darren,i have monitored since it was listed.the beta is low means good for long term holding.during bearish market,this stock can sustain firmly and of course it won't jump like rocket during bullish market.from mid apr til now,less than 9% changes on price before "close to ink" news spread.the deals could be done or not must announce asap as a lot of funds stuck in this counter and ppl will getting impatient to support current price.selling pressure seems reduce but there is still risk of price moving down in short term.

just wanna share with you guys.... theedge malaysia 7 january 2013... last sept benalec entered into agreements with the johor gov via two 70% owned subsidiaries to reclaim 3485 and 1760 acres in the coastal areas of Tanjung Piai and Pengerang respectively. The group is awaiting EIA approval which it hopes to obtain by the second half of the year. According to AmResearch the first phase of Benalec tanjung Piai landbank alone with 2000 net saleable acres is worth rm1.4 billion, which tranlates into rm1.72 per Benalec share. to be continueeeee

Be careful guys. Note Wednesday note:
Benalec may decline after yesterday’s “Long Black Day”. A position can be liquidated as long as the stock stays below MYR1.30, with supports anticipated at MYR1.15 and MYR1.10. A close above MYR1.34, however, could see a quick return in buying and resistance can be found at MYR1.37 and MYR1.45.

The downside risk of the stock is probably a delay in securing off-takers for the reclaimed land. Amresearch which has a buy rating on benalec, has a fair value of rm2.48 derived from its sum-parts value for the group of rm 1.99 billion. apart from the over 5000 acres in Johor, the marine construction outfit also has 500 yet to be reclaimed acres in Klebang Melaka.... refer to the star today.... total amount of the sales +- rm 97,000,000. Hanya sebahagian saja yang dijual....may be around 10%. so near term target rm 1.50 are sound reasonable.

no one know what happen to this stock later. so use your own judgement by reading and doing some analyst. Be a bit conservative may help too. ask yourself how long you can hold this stock. If two years then consider a good stock to buy and hold. Short term may be not. Use this as reference only.

Benalec is confident that the deal with Abu Dhabi will be the catalyst for the people whom they are currently discussing with to speed up the decision process. The company is expected to monetise at least half of the land bank in the near future.
