Censof Holdings Bhd eyes to sign up large number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) eligible for the goods and services tax (GST), via acquiring Asian Business Software Solutions Sdn Bhd (ABSS), the operator of MYOB accounting software.

Censof deputy MD Tamil Selvanantham Durairaj said the partnership - which would provide GST accounting software for small and medium industries (SME) – would be contributing positively to Censof's current financial year ending March 31, 2015.

“Censof has an in-house GST accounting software. But MYOB is a globally-renowned brand and is closely associated with the SMEs, which is rich in Malaysia.

“We would like to capitalise on the vast base of SMEs in the country, while the strategic partnership will enable strong sales growth of MYOB accounting software products to new customers, domestically,” he told a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, Censof said the joint venture (JV) was made via its unit Century Software (M) Sdn Bhd, where the latter will hold a 50.02% and ABSS 49.98%.

Censof said the tie-up was aimed to drive a strong growth of sales of MYOB brand accounting software products and to carry out such other business incidental to the general purpose set forth in the JV agreement.

It said that Century Software and ABSS would invest RM300,000 each in the JV company, named Censoff ABSS Sdn Bhd.

ABSS managing director Paul Jennings said by leveraging on Censof's strong customer base with a large number of Malaysian SMEs, the JV will enable the company to assist many more Malaysian businesses prepare for and successfully implement the GST.

He believes that more companies, especially SMEs would opt for the GST software once the 2015 Budget is unveiled this Friday, as a more definite implementation timeline will be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak.

Censof must keep on trading at 0.465 until the indicators are ready and this can take a few hrs. more. When you see them buying up at 47sen. then you will know its about time to move up. Dnex will also move up at the same time.

If you take a close look at Censof trading, you will notice that they execute at a precise time at 0.465, and the qty is small. They know that those who get it at this price is likely to win, so they sell only in small qty. I have taken up quite big qty at 0.465 yesterday , so I'm just watching the action.

Imck, there are many other s/w provider for gst. Based the latest comment from censof, 90 of their projects are from government . Only 10% from sme. But gst will still benefit them a lot as companies buying in bundle, accounting plus gst. Also they pay the s/w yearly. So is recurring income for censof. Very good QR. If wasnt due to falling oil price, censof could have shoot up to 50 sen today. Cheers everyone for tmr!

The Group registered a revenue and profit before taxation of RM32.63 million and RM5.19 million for the immediate preceding period ended 30 September 2014 against a revenue of RM38.20 million and profit before taxation of RM9.87 million for the current quarter under review. The increase for the current quarter was due to positive contributions from the new joint-venture company, Censof-ABSS Sdn Bhd and Dagang NeXchange Bhd's recent secured Petronas project
