Cgris, Today is PETRONAS day. All PETRONAS oil based & LNG are UP. PETDAG, PETGAS are all related to GASMSIA. PETRONAS prosper but not on Chemical i.e: PCHEM (Poor me! Dang!)

3 billion is only paper loss...in sudan they have stop production due to the politics. If they had continued..they would have made 3 billion on harvesting the crude oil over there...hence the "loss" is not like they are leaking cash but an opportunity loss

I nearly laughed my socks off if you could see what singh was hanging on to the next posting of alexlulu's with glee! Properties tend to go up where hot money is coming! Suggest you look at asean countries!

Aussie properties I am not too familiar to recommend. If really u need to buy there, go for the true and tested! Near university campus, major transportation points like MRT etc, beachfront or prime estate, near established township with basic amenities in place, etc! Property agents can tell you more!

After studying most countries, my deduction

1. Singapore....dollar for dollar...everything is cheaper except property
2. Japan....was good prospect until tsunami....they have insurance for property rental
3. Indo...out
4. Hk ...out
5. Nz....too socialist.....not gd for my growing kid
6. Aust....Melbourne cbd....property purchase foreigner loan 80% of value, yield 5%, 2.2% vacancy rate.loan pay interest only base on contract

At the end, it depends on your own objective! In Malaysia, personally I like where SP Setia and Mah Sing is going! Most of theirs appreciate fast and quality is good!

Stayed there for 2 years and during that time there was a requiremnt to build a bridge. They got 3contractors. A jap a korean, a local to quote and confirm the proj timeline. The korean say 6 mths and the japs 1 year guess what the local contractor quoted.......? Freaking 3 years.

Year 1 and 2 design and study eviroment
Year 3 built
