（吉隆坡26日讯）The Edge媒体集团“老板”童贵旺入股的消息传开，刺激星报出版（STAR,6084,主板电讯媒体组）价量齐升，一口气挤入涨价榜和热门榜。

星报出版上扬2.5仙，以53.5仙掀开交易，随后大涨13仙或25.49%，升上64仙高价，截至早上11时守住62仙，仍上升11仙或21.57%，为第六大涨价股，共有8265万2600股易手，排在热门榜第二位。

财经网站theedgemarkets.com引述员工内部备忘录报道称，童贵旺强调，上述收购计划“纯粹只是一项投资”。

“这是对一家公司的投资，这家公司的股价和资本多年来一直远低于其现金及资产价值，而且这家公司并无负债，显然已被低估。”

交易所资料显示，童贵旺上周二（18日）在公开市场直接买下星报出版的183万9200股（0.25%），并透过The Edge媒体集团收购3750万股（5.17%），总共掌握了3933万9200股，成为马华公会之后的最大股东。

根据交易所资料，马华公会直接持有星报出版的3亿1332万股（42.42%），也透过华仁控股掌握1563万股（2.12%），为该公司最大股东。

If Star's income solely comes from selling newspaper only, they would've folded a long, long, long time ago.

Their major source of income comes from advertising.
