A much higher price is achievable but needs time. So far all that have happen is positive. Tong is definitely not cozy with MCA and MCA is not going to sell controlling stake to Tong. Tong will be the policeman watching the company.
Just selling 2 piece of Industrial Property at Bkt Jelutong Shah Alam already net STAR 13% stake in MATANG and another RM4.12m cash. Looks like the same corporate move will be repeated on most of STAR Media's property across the control. So the cash hoard will just be increasing and simultaneous STAR Media will have a significant stake in Matang. Matang got alot of land with development potential in Johor. Star's entry into Matang is at just 8.09 cents a share.

Chairman at the AGM said quite confidently that 2023 financial performance should be better than 2022 in terms of revenue and profit. So dividend payout for 2023 will be more than 1c hopefully.

Hopefully with the Star business hub development project the income will increase in the years to come. The high rise office block at section 13 when occupied will generate good return in future. Just hold on for me to collect dividends just like REIT shares.

Please read The Edge review on the sale of property to Matang. I agree with the Edge that the related party transaction does not benefit the minority shareholders of Star. Vote against the sale proposal at the EGM on 30 MAY2023!

MCA a majority owner of THE STAR will decide in this coming EGM whether to support this related party transaction or reject it for the benefit of long time small faithful shareholders. The outcome of this inter related party transaction will definitely have a bearing in this coming STATE ELECTION .MCA will not garner support from the Chinese or the rahyat if THE STAR MEDIA star share price cannot SHINES.Some small shareholders already got BURNED chasing STAR MEDIA share above 60sens and now WHOM DO THEY VOTE in this coming state election,MCA can guess it outcome and MIGHT LOST it candidate election deposit if this group of shareholders,family member and friends vent their frustration in the ballot boxes.Should have let THE STAR share price stay at 30 plus sen instead of a share buy back chasing it to 60 sen and let it have a FREE FALL again back to where it came from.POLITICS always make the POOR RAHYAT look like a dumb fool and taken for a ride and only benefits those well connected rich.

if MCA over 50% owned HUAREN Holdings cannot stabilize a small STAR MEDIA company share price, do you think if MCA is part of the government is able to contribute an idea to stabilize our economy and especially our RINGGIT. Actually because of the poor market sentiments a pull back of about 10% to 54sen is OK but not 20% down to the price when the company excercise it BUYBACK. Someone must have GAIN during the run up and also during the sell down. Why not let TABUNG HAJI fund sell all the way down to 20 sens before exercising the buy back and in that case small shareholders would not have been caught holding the over 60sen STAR shares now with a very GOOD write up article on STAR.MCA is resposible because it hold a majority share and resposible for company directors and company senior exec.appointments Cannot understand WHY let GOOD money going after BAD MONEY.

This morning I overheard a group of senior citizen eating BKT in KLANG grumbling how bad is STAR MEDIA share price and got burned during the RUN UP. This innocent seniors was just hoping to collect a angpow election moneya but unfortunately somebody else with golden fingers has collected it and safe inside the pocket.

The Edge bought over the remaining 5%+ share owned by ASB on the same day. Many got caught recently chasing the shares up to 60cts +. No choice but to hold on.

BURSA requirement for subject matter experts had been implemented long ago.

quite difficult for Tong to hold out as another "subject matter expert"

I cook everyday
but its difficult to claim I am a subject matter expert on cooking unless I am an accredited Culinary School graduate.
Key word is accredited.
taking cooking lessons from mum dun qualify as cooking subject matter expert.

i AGREE with TONG because if it is a GOOD DEAL for STAR then it share price would have gone up or at least hold steady at 56 to 60sen because of poor market sentiment and not ALL THE WAY DOWN to 39sen.The AH PEK drinking chatting in the coffee shop only knows if it is a good deal then the price will has GONE UP and not the other way round.

When STAR MEDIA share price start to fall below 30sen in the year 2020 ,MCA only have 2 MP left standing against 31 seat in 2004 and 15 seats in 2008.I will call it LUCKY for MCA still able to hold on to the 2 seats.STAR media is the FLAG BEARER of the MCA and if the STAR FALL what do MCA election candidate expect.Just ONE SIMPLE QUESTION if MCA cannot run it own house THE STAR in good order , HOW DO MCA expect the rahyat to vote them in to run the state constituencies ,they must be JOKING with the rahyat.

We might not do much with the voting in the EGM but we can definitely MCA feel the heat during this coming state election.MCA control STAR so give them 2 months to put the house (STAR) in good order.Not sure with other states but Penang people will not support MCA if the STAR fail to shine and just like BOOTING the GERAKAN out from the previous state government , you can bring in KOREAN PSY or blanja makan but PENANG GUY are smart enough not to be swindled
