I was monitoring this stock on my trading platform as I was waiting for entry. So you will have to take it with a pinch of salt as it is coming from me (An anonymous user over the internet).

- Price was hovering at around the usual 1.80 - 1.83 mark at opening on 7th Dec.
- At exactly 3pm (7th Dec), there was a string of Buy transactions which cleared the queue upwards until the 1.90 mark. Price remained there until closing.
- This happened a couple of weeks back where a Buy spike moved the price upwards but at that time the subsequent wave of Sells reset the price by closing.
- Take into account there is an effort to circulate publicity around packaging stocks lately.

why do you think that would happen btw? if it was a deliberate push it sure wasnt an effective one, or maybe big players are slowly accumulating through methods like this?

Master is an illiquid stock so big buy tranches will push the price up dramatically. Big players can be accumulating through this strategy, maybe. But the reverse is also true. A big sell tranche tanks the price due to the illiquidity.

I would call this push an effective one, as the price has stuck at 1.90 unlike the previous push.

I need to be clear. I was monitoring Master for an Invest & Hold portfolio investment, not my Trade portfolio. For Trading, the added volatility can represent an opportunity.

For my value intentions, I am monitoring from the outside for now as price has gone beyond my threshold. Master's last 2 quarters were below expectations, yet the price has gone upwards without any change in the fundamentals.

@systemworks i think they banking on the confidence that last qtr was just temporary, due to First Solar coming up with a new model for their solar panel products. Once that comes out, things will resume again

Yes, they could be banking on future earnings and that may explain the sudden wave of interest. Note that average volume is up too. The coordination in pushing the price could just be a coincidence but does not look organic to me.

That said, the price has gone beyond my entry range so I'm sitting this one out. In terms of making a trade, yes there is potentially money to be made here.
