Why?

Answer:

High oil prices will cause polymer prices to go up and eat into the production cost of padini

Another reason is from history

In US Great Depression years of 1929 to 1939

Men's clothing sales are the first casualty

So get out of padini and go buy Opcom now

eh calvin, what kind of analysis is that? the spike in oil prices is only temporary and a knee-jerk reaction. the oil supply and demand situation today is unlike that of 20 years ago. and another thing, padini's mostly uses cotton and not synthetic fibres for its garments lah, so how can it affect its costs of production significantly? great depression of 1929? you think we are in a great depression now? if yes, better sell all your stocks and don't recommend buying until we hit the bottom lah. longkang analysis.

Padini outlet nt much customer alr.
Only when big sale, then lot of traffic.
But wont help much also becaause margin will drag until very low.

Fashion retailer Padini Holdings Bhd has started the new financial year on the right note as net profit for the first quarter ended Sept 30 rose by 9.15%, thanks to improved sales.

Net profit amounted to RM19.61 million or 2.98 sen per share, versus RM17.96 million or 2.73 sen per share last year, while revenue rose to RM338.04 million from RM329.79 million, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

The group has declared a dividend of 2.5 sen per share for the financial year ending June 30, 2020 (FY20), payable on Dec 31.

The low of 3 was an exceptional “bottom fishing” price yesterday. With festive seasons coming, more will have to opt for Padini due to lackluster economic conditions.

padini will be getting the most benefit in this slowdown economy since consumer are looking for affordable clothes compared with uniqlo that is too expensive. just vistied aeon mall and the crowd in padini is tremendous compare with uniqlo with less customers. consumer already used to buy padini and brands outlet clothing
