USD so strong against MYR, this is a supper good factor for export companies like TG, they will earn more ringgits for the same selling price in USD.

Demand already improved. TG MD already given hint that in Dec 2023 before X`mas sales already recorded 20 to 30% VS Nov 2023. This is due to the overstock purchased by customers already expired or going to expired ( Latex gloves expiry shelf life 3 years while Nitrile gloves expiry shelf life 5 years).

85% of TG business are OEM business, OEM customers won't change the manufacturing base just because of USD 1 to 2 per 1000 pieces.

Plant utilization for Harta and Kossan already reached 90% in latest QR report. TG will record improvement in plant utilization in coming QR.

Chinese factories are also under scrutiny due to increased FDA inspection on exam glove imports into the US. These can take from days to a month to complete, which could push some importers to move production to SEA makers like TG.

TG next QR report coming soon in 2 weeks time.

ALL three glove players under our coverage, namely Top Glove Corp Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd and Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, posted a weaker set of results in the recent quarter, mainly due to lower average selling prices (ASPs) and sales volume.

We believe the operational landscape for Malaysian glove makers would still be challenging moving into the first half of 2024 (1H24). Given the prevailing price competition from Chinese’s glove players, Malaysian producers would not be able to raise ASPs meaningfully.

Moreover, the upward trend in raw material prices would exacerbate the challenges in maintaining operational margins.

We believe the recent positive movements in share prices have outpaced its fair valuation and as we do not anticipate any positive earnings surprises in the medium term, therefore, we downgrade the sector from ‘Neutral’ to ‘Underweight’.

This Public Bank and Kenanga IB analyst must be dumb dumb like Loganathan_rhb. They wrote report based on past never look into future.

They can't see the strong USD vs MYR, they can't see plant utilization already improved，they can't see raw material price dropped, they can't see demand has improved, they can't see US is scruniting China makers.

Every investor must read IB reports because they have information from IB briefing sessions with the listed company management, they do summarization of information. Every investor must understand the reports from different IB analysts and make own judgment.

Don't follow IB`s recommendation blindly. They have their own intention behind the recommendation.

Some analysts are good some are dumb like loganathan_rhb.

Following are the things already happening in the market.

1. Demand has improved, this already shown in recent QR report from TG and also other Malaysia glove players.

2. USD to MYR is at historical high.

3. Natural gas price is going down. Raw materials price going down.

4. China gloves makers scruniting by US custom, Europe could follow soon.

5. Cost optimization exercises already shown good result since last quarter. Lower depreciation cost due to decommissioning of old factories.

6. ASP price eventually will be back to normal following increase in demand globally.

You guys have to understand why the demand so low post pandemic because the customers baught too many during pandemic. Too many stocks in the store waiting to be consumed.

Now already more than 3 years. Thus overstock they bought during pandemic already consumed or already expired or near expiry. It is time to resume back to normal demand.

Latex 3 years shelf life. Nitrile 5 years. In medical industry strictly follow the product shelf life, no other exemption.

You want to use for gardening no problem, you want to cut the glove fingers as your condom also no problem.
