Well, Overall we can't look at one or two geopolitical events, Macroeconomics n interest rates plus what this fellow Trump, Xijiping, n Probably EU n South America. At present Argentina Probably will have an economic crisis...then all Companies good or bad fundamental, even good forward earnings growth, overall market value will Retrace. Of course the fundamentally strong plus Earnings growth company will go up faster, when any crisis is stabilised. That's why Investing can't be taught in business schools​...needs lots of experience n exposure, plus lots of reading n analysis of specific sectors. Invest what you really understand. TQ n GL...!!!

On the currency front, the one-month offshore ringgit non-deliverable forwards, which are contracts that will cash-settle changes in the value of the Malaysian ringgit against the US dollar, fell 4.3 per cent overnight, valuing the US dollar at 4.18925 ringgit as at 9.13am.

DBS said it had expected the ringgit to depreciate, with or without the election upset.

"Our forecast for the ringgit to depreciate to 4.20 by the end of this year was formulated before the election. This was based on our expectation for a resurgent US dollar from a more hawkish US growth/inflation/rates outlook and a moderation in the eurozone’s momentum.

CIMB Investment Bank said foreign investors may reduce their weighting in Malaysia due to short-term uncertainties.

“As such, banking stocks that have never seen foreign inflows in recent months may be negatively impacted. Constructions sector too will be negatively impacted as big projects may be reviewed,” the research house said.

“Consumer stocks however could gain from potential goods and services tax abolishment and minimum wage hike. Exporters may also gain due to their limited exposure to the domestic market,” it said.
