（吉隆坡20日讯）尽管营业额下降，安吉雅（Ajiya Bhd）首季净利按年增长近2倍。

安吉雅今日向大马交易所报备，截至2月29日止2020财政年首季，净利达310万令吉，或每股1.05仙，相较于上财年同期的105万令吉，或每股0.35仙。

这家金属屋顶和安全玻璃制造商指出，税前盈利较上年同期大幅上涨，部分原因是利息和其他收入增加。

惟首季营业额从8120万令吉，下跌4.56%至7750万令吉，因产品需求走低。

展望未来，该集团表示，新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情和政府实施行动限制令（MCO），将对公司本财年的业绩前景产生重大影响，且前景仍不确定和具挑战性。

“不过，集团正在采取各种措施，为可持续的长期增长奠定更坚实的基础，并应对未来的挑战。”

安吉雅今日扬2.5仙或7.58%，收于35.5仙，约23万6300股成交。市值为1亿554万令吉。

KUALA LUMPUR (April 20): Ajiya Bhd ‘s net profit for the first quarter ended Feb 29, 2020 (1QFY20) almost tripled to RM3.1 million or 1.05 sen per share, from RM1.05 million or 0.35 sen a year earlier, despite recording lower revenue.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the metal roofing and safety glass maker said profit before tax swelled from the corresponding period in the preceding year partly due to higher interest and other income received.

Quarterly revenue, however, fell 4.56% to RM77.5 million from RM81.2 million on lower demand for its products.

On its prospects, the group said the Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO) imposed by the government will have a major impact on the company’s performance outlook for the financial year, which remains uncertain and challenging.

“However, the group is undertaking various measures in its pursuit to achieve a firmer foundation for sustainable long-term growth and to weather through the challenges ahead.”

Shares in Ajiya closed 2.5 sen or 7.58% higher at 35.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM105.54 million, after some 236,300 shares were traded.
