with div payment of say 3sen, price adjusted 3sen down on ex date. what about shares in lieu of div? any price adjustment on ex date? wakaka ... hahaha
55.. gotta sell under odd lots. or you can buy odd lot of 45 shares if there are sellers. maybe if lucky, mgmt gives you 100 to reduce cases of odd lots... wakaka
Ex date on 1:18 dividend shares is on 28/06. Wanna ask sifus:
1. Will the share price be the same (opening price) on 28/06 as the closing day (price) on 27/06? 2. Since dividend shares are from the treasury shares, there won't be any dilution to share price right?
Sheep.. I have been thinking your questions all this while and also asked my friends but couldn't get a convinced answer from them. My view is that this dividend share has no such basis called ex-date price so there is no basis to talk about the share price after ex-dividend share. However i will still set a self-assumed basis price of 0.58-0.60 due to it was the price level when the company announced the dividend share and it was also mentioned in its AR 2016 the company to reward the shareholders by distributing dividend from the treasury shares which had a average buy back cost of 0.59. So my basis comes from there but now unfortunately the qtr result was in red, so I worry the share price after dividend share would go below 0.58.
