No major impact from MSCI review as 85%-90% Shareholdings held by PNB/ASM/EPF/KWAP etc. Other major shareholders are GIC Singapore and Vanguard International (if they have yet to exit based on previous sell down to 1.18 and foreign funds exodus). It will always be reinstated in subsequent reviews once the share price recovered > 2. Market has no memory and Foreign Funds will return in droves then.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): MSCI has dropped Boustead Plantations Bhd, Eastern & Oriental Bhd, Hong Leong Industries Bhd and UOA Development Bhd from the MSCI Malaysia Index, following its November 2019 Semi-Annual Index Review.

Meanwhile, Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd, Ekovest Bhd, Frontken Corp Bhd, Leong Hup International Bhd, MMC Corp Bhd, Pentamaster Corp Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, S P Setia Bhd and Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd were added to the index.

Just different component of MSCI Indices ( Higher Cap, Mid Cap etc.). Whatever it is, Vulture swooped in again @ 1.28 when there is Panic Selling. Foreign Funds will just re-balance their respective funds portfolios.

Property sector and share price are cyclical and will always be subjected to market vagaries. Market capitalization will always fluctuate and will be low during bad times. Land bank is not perishable and will move in tandem with the economy. As long as not ”chasing” at high share price with spare Cash, the rewards will be substantial over time. It is only a matter of short, medium or long term investment horizon to crystallise on the gains ? Nothing Venture Nothing Gain. Opportunities wait for no one.

Crisis = Opportunity. Otherwise, how is it possible to buy SP Setia (Top Developer Company in Malaysia) at the 1.18-1.23 range last month. Those who bought in at that range would have already made significant short term gain or even more over the medium to long term. Even those that missed out on the previous low prices & bought in at < 1.30 yesterday should be able to generate good returns over time. “Time & tide wait for no man”.

High debt of ~ 10b but solidly backed by total assets of 30b. If SP Setia has low debt at present as a property developer, the share price will be easily > 3 :-) SP Setia is certainly attractive at current depressed share price level.
