Hunger... i am more concern about the announcement to buy back shares as it indicates the management thinks the share is undervalued, buying back can save the cost of the fund raised from the equities.

Usually if few directors in a company are collectively buying back its shares, it is a good indication that the share price will going to soar in the near future . Not to worry about the announcement is dated 6 April 2017 because the company can handle its . Pmetal tetap boleh . Uptrend continue tomorrow until May or before the 1Q2017 announce .

To answer Confortzone question why company buyback shares

-Take advantage of an undervalued share price
-Reduce share dilution and increase ownership
-Improve key ratios such as returns on assets, return on equity and earnings per share
-No better option to invest surplus cash

Advantage to us investor
-lowers the number of shares outstanding which in return should help to increase the share price. As the company physically buys stock, there is automatically more demand.
-management shows confidence in its own business while at the same time providing buying support for the stock. Market sentiment towards the stock may improve, which could trigger additional buying.

Also, with regards to next quarterly results which should be announced in May, I am pretty confident it will be good because aluminum price has been hitting the high notes within the last 6 months.

A WEAK ringgit and higher aluminium prices are set to enable aluminium maker Press Metal Bhd to deliver a three-year earnings compound annual growth rate of 21.9% from 2017 to 2019, said UOBKayHian Research.

The research house noted that other factors, namely Press Metal’s cost savings in logistics and a ramp-up to full capacity, will drive the largest aluminium producer in South-East Asia to deliver a commendable performance going forward.

“Press Metal’s production cost is much lower than its global peers, mainly due to low electricity costs from 25-year power purchase agreements with Sarawak Energy since 2011 and 2014 respectively.

“We also expect the aluminium manufacturer’s effective tax rates to stay low at 12.5% in 2017 to 2019, following tax exemptions from its pioneer status and an investment tax incentive.

“In addition, we estimate annual cost savings of between RM30mil to RM40mil from the opening of the Samalaju deepsea port in mid-2017, which will utilise a conveyor belt system instead of land transportation via lorries,” said UOBKayHian in a note.

The research house said Press Metal will benefit from a strong greenback against the ringgit as almost all of its sales are in US dollars.

Heading into 2017, Press Metal anticipates to ramp up its aluminium production by 20% to its full capacity of 760,000 tonnes and increase its production mix of value-added aluminium products to 50% by year-end.

Currently, its production mix of value-added aluminium products stand at 30%.

The aluminium maker also expects a capacity expansion of about 320,000 metric tonnes per annum at its Samalaju plant, subject to the availability of power supply from Sarawak Energy.

Global aluminium prices have bottomed out as spot aluminium prices broke the US$1,900 per tonne mark as of last week and are at US$1,950 currently.

UOBKayHian Research projected aluminium prices to be supported at current levels moving forward.

“We expect industry supply-demand dynamics to remain favourable on the back of stimulus policies and investment promises by the United States and China in the construction and automobile sectors, as well as continued global production cuts,” said the research unit.

UOBKayHian Research expects Press Metal’s projected strong operating cash flow at an average of RM938mil annually for 2017-2019 to pare down the aluminium maker’s net gearing to 0.4 times by 2019.

The research house recommended a “buy” call on Press Metal, with a target price of RM3.30.
