Happy morning all , as I have pointed out earlier , quarterly revenue for Pmetal averagely above USD 300mil , the gain on forex for Q4 will be easily 10% ( Oct - Dec , USD / RM was approx. 3.50 averagely compare to Q3 @ 3.20 ) meaning every USD 1 sales that Pmetal concluded , it will contribute extra RM0.30 forex gain ( rm 0.30 x usd 300mil = rm 90mil forex gain , given a discount of 50% , it is still rm 45mil gained ) , if we were to include quarterly profit say rm 80mil ( Q3 actual is RM 82 mil ) then Q4 result should be above rm100mil . This is my 2 cents opinion . Cheers and looking forward to another uptrend day .

Excluding the unrealised forex losses, PBT Q4 is better than Q3 (RM141.7m vs RM138.8m)
In Q4 accounted for unrealised exchange loss of RM80.9m.

I have to agree that Q4 result was disappointing , but overall 2014 whole year profit stand at rm212.7 mil compare to 2013's rm 15 mil only , if you were to compare corresponding 2013 Q4 , it is a remarkable improved result, Q4 2013 was rm28.7 mil LOSSES . RM 95.3mil loss on forex was Pmetal USD denominated loan , but it is NOT realized yet ( in accounting , all losses realized or unrealized will have to be accounted in P&L ) , I am not perturb by this extraordinary forex loss as the USD denominated loan is a term loan which will spread into certain period , furthermore we should recall that Pmetal will have a insurance claim against the insurer on 2013 Mukah plant shut down due to electricity outage , this will be a extraordinary gain in coming quarters . I will continue my investment in Pmetal .

As for the conversion of loan stocks to ordinary shares, If you read it positively, it means the owners of the company are expecting a better return from the ordinary shares than the loan stocks.

PMetal and LBAlum is like Public Bank and Affin Bank.
When Public Bank achieved record sales & profit, it doesn't mean Affin Bank will achieve record sales & profit.

But of course, Public Bank share price is expensive, Affin Bank share price is cheap.

Press metal in upstream, LB downstream

LB uses ingots produced by Preess Metal to produce aluminum extrusion products

LB fortune determined by prospects of construction and property industry while press metal is determined by supply and demand of aluminum worldwide

newbie: hello sifu sifu. I hv question here and need your kind advice.
Im playing stock for less than 2 month.

1) Pmetal is giving interim dividen.
Ex date : 27/2/2015
Entitlement date: 3/3/2015

What should I do know? As far as I know the stock will drop after dividen is given. So need your advice should I sell the stock? if yes when to sell?

u approach stock market investing in the wrong way. You cannot buy a counter and expect to exit within 6 month.

Have a view to keep for 1 year, this stock will fly. At the moment, this counter is tracking the aluminium price in LME. aluminium is now below USD 1800 (3 month price). good news is market is in cotango
