All these gives PNB Confidence!. On July 27, 28 and 29, Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) bought a total of 290.13 million shares in Sapura Energy, thus raising its direct stake by almost 3% to 30.08%. The buying by ASB was on the heels of Sapura Energy’s 11th AGM on July 28. Sapura Energy are trading at near historic lows and closing at 5 sen yesterday. This means so GREEN like Incredible Hulk!

2. Fantastic Cleaning Up!

Most of Sap previous losses are impairment losses. Sapura already reported so much impairments during the downturn last year, and now those asset value a lot more in current prospect. Financially speaking, their asset book is healthy. As long as they maintain working capital, they can survive this upturn market easily. People are rushing to capitalise current outlook, and willing to pay expediting fees.

SAP bought SeaDrill for 8.63Bil back in 2013. Impaired close to 2Bil just before Oil jumps $120. Considering a New Drilling Rig cost more than US$2.0Bil (8 bil each ) given Doubling of Steel price, nobody in the Right mind would Buy a New Rig ( need 4years to complete One ).

Given current situation SAP SeaDrill actually can Sell at 10Bil. I think given anytime, SAP can reverse RM2.0Bil impairment Loss (into impairment Gain in coming Qr.) Okay, the Trick now is to force Bank for a haircut then do a reverse impairment And do a revaluation of Asset after the Haircut. ( given SAP sold a floating Crane at profit recently ). All SAP book losses can wipe off if SeaDrill has a Buyer...

Unlike SD, most Sap losses are impairment losses ( not cash losses). If Sap losses ( if Real ), Bankers will want their money back immediately. This impairment can be write back if they can step up to the next level...

5. Fantastic Assets

Sapura has assets like oil and gas fields that is already producing 40k barrels per day and ramping up to 100k per day in 2 years via their 50% stake in Sapura OMV. In 2019, they sold this 50% share to OMV for RM4b when oil prices were lower. Today it is worth easily RM6b due to higher oil prices. Sapura also has RM7b contracts in hand, 12 tender oil rigs (largest fleet in world) and many many offshore ships. On top of that Sapnrg has National Gas reserve worth RM 110 billion. It is the largest O&G support asset owner in Malaysia and 2nd largest in world.

Share price will improve on MOF sentiment and renewed O&G commodities bull run. Brent still above $100 per bbl now. All operators are paying expediting fees to secure rigs and don’t mind the premium. Sapura Energy Bhd and 22 of its wholly-owned subsidiaries have obtained a nine-month extension of the restraining order (RO) from the High Court against their creditors.

6. Fantastic Quarter Report!

Quarter Result on 30-Apr-2022: QoQ - 101.39% YoY - 194.71%.

When performing Technical Analysis, you should remember that the higher time frame supersedes the lower time frame.

This means that a monthly resistance is stronger than a weekly resistance which in turn is stronger than a daily resistance.

How is this important? Well, sometimes, you will find that on a daily time frame (i.e. daily bars), the market is on support but is also close to a monthly resistance. This is a dangerous setup and you’re most likely facing resistance than lying on support.

Whether it’s a graphical or a mathematical support/resistance level (e.g. Bollinger Bands level), you must always take this into account so that you’re coherent across your trading framework

That's why when Mabel deals with a turnaround companies like SE, SD and Dnex, Mabel always has a horizon of 2-3 years.

For Mabel, the fact that ASB/PNB acquired that 99mil shares on 27jul22 at 4.5 sen, which surely not for a short-term play... if institutional investor going for long term that is meant they have faith on Sapura's going concern.. this is a good news for Mabel...

In 2018 if Mabel not mistaken, the right issues shares priced at 30sen. Ex right was 41 sen. In 2018, when all these transaction was done, Sapura Energy net asset per share was RM1.60

So anything less is not good for PNB. PNB need to push above 41 sen. All PNB need is to just push SAP to 50 sen than Auditor On-Going-Concern remarks will disappear. Equity hit 7bil. Current Debt is 10.7Bil (short-term) but soon received assurance from Bankers to roll-over for 7years or ever and ever. Purrrfect Scenario for everyone..Anything more is definitely a BONUS...

Yes that's true Michael. That's definitely one of SE weakness point. However, Sap Shareholders have not been meaningfully diluted in the past year.

What do factory shutdowns in China, shipping delays in Europe and reduced agricultural output in the U.S. have to do with each other? They are all being caused by severe droughts impacting the world's largest economies. Researchers say the dry spells are partly because of seasonal weather patterns like La Niña, but are also related to consequences of land degradation and climate change.

Snapshot: The Chinese province of Sichuan just announced it would extend industrial power cuts and activate its highest emergency response, impacting a number of global manufacturers like Apple (AAPL), Foxconn (OTCPK:FXCOF), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY). The vital Yangtze, the longest river in Asia, reached its lowest level on record for August, affecting supply of hydropower and causing widespread shortages. Tesla (TSLA) has even asked the government to help ensure its suppliers have a sufficient amount of electricity, with over a dozen of them currently not able to manufacture at full capacity.

Over in Europe, cargo ships have had to reduce their loads due to critically low levels of the Rhine. The waterway is usually occupied with vessels transporting raw materials to power plants and factories, and Italy has even declared a state of emergency along its important Po River. Separately, agricultural forecasters in the U.S. now expect farmers to lose more than 40% of the cotton crop, while many acres of farmland are being left unplanted because of water shortages. In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has announced that states like Arizona and Nevada will have to cut their water allocations by up to 21% next year because of the increasing megadrought in the Southwest.

Go deeper: The situation could drive up energy prices as hydro and nuclear power are reduced given the lower levels of water (that cannot sufficiently cool reactors). Higher transport costs and supply chain snarls could also raise food prices, adding to inflationary forces and squeezing a global trade system that was already under pressure from the coronavirus pandemic.
