from a year ago, every night before I sleep,I dream for another recession and wish this counter to drop to rm0.70. Looks like it’s approaching, any price below rm0.70 good to grab.

Harris, no harm to keep dreaming...you might reach your goal! FGV main core objective is to look after the poor Malay settlements in those days and the new PH Government can't afford to keep the share price any lower, or else PH only can be a 1 term in Government! So who is still dreaming now...PH or U?

Look at this news, they revealed part of it only. I don't know if they dare to reveal all after completing their investigation. If there's more, it isn't wise to reveal all given the current stock price. Not sure if should or shouldn't reveal all. Revealing all while may give the counter a black eye but maybe due to the transparency, it might later gain traction with investor

but if is me managing the case, i would reveal all and at same time implement core reforms to instill public confidence. While there may be negative reaction but it actually clear all the doubts once and for all and will build the foundation for going up provided the reforms that are provided are not mediocre but something impressive.

Felda committed to assist 100,000 smallholders obtain MSPO certification

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6): The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) is committed to assist 100,000 smallholders from 286 Felda settlements obtain the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification for 431,430 hectares (ha) of oil palm plantation.

In a statement today, Felda said compliance with the MSPO offered many benefits for smallholders, including helping them in branding their palm oil products and giving them a higher export competitive edge, especially in environmentally sensitive markets like the European Union, the United States and Australia.

Other benefits include a more effective and systematic management, helping to achieve the country’s aspiration in ensuring a sustainable palm product output, potentially enhancing yield and improving oil extraction rate by using the Best Management Practices.

To date, 120 oil palm settlement schemes or almost 42 per cent of oil palm schemes in the country have obtained MSPO certification, involving 175,950.21ha of plantation land.

Meanwhile, 166 other schemes, involving 225,480.23ha of plantation land, are expected to be MSPO certified by end-2019.

Felda said it is working together with a third-party auditor and other agencies to obtain the certification and ensure transparency in the initiative towards producing sustainable palm oil.

Sarawak will cease palm oil plantation expansion, says Teresa Kok

Sarawak’s state govt will not issue new licences for plantation expansion, Teresa Kok says.
Sarawak’s state govt will not issue new licences for plantation expansion, Teresa Kok says.

KUALA LUMPUR: There will not be any more expansion of palm oil plantations in Sarawak, according to Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok on Thursday.

Sarawak’s state govt will not issue new licences for plantation expansion, Kok says at industry event near Kuala Lumpur

Sarawak is Malaysia’s second-biggest palm growing state; Malaysia is world’s No. 2 palm oil producer.

About 1.26 million ha of palm oil area in Malaysia has gained Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil certification, representing 21.7% of country’s total palm planted area, she said.

Certification scheme will be made mandatory by December 2019; all palm oil exports must fulfill requirements under MSPO by January 2020.

Palm oil prices are facing a cyclical downturn and will likely improve next year, Kok says. - Bloomberg

Malaysian palm oil price rebounds from one-week low

The benchmark palm oil contract for February delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose 0.5 percent at 2,005 ringgit ($481.74) a tonne at the close.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian palm oil futures recovered from a one-week low hit earlier on Thursday as traders forecast slowing output amid some short-covering.

The benchmark palm oil contract for February delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose 0.5 percent at 2,005 ringgit ($481.74) a tonne at the close.

It earlier dropped to 1,979 ringgit, its lowest since Nov. 28, tracking weakness in other related edible oils and crude.

Trading volumes stood at 49,351 lots of 25 tonnes each at the end of the trading day.

"The market is supported by the production factor," said a Singapore based trader, explaining that output is expected to ease in December from the previous month.

Official data for November is scheduled for release on Dec. 10 from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.

Another trader added that the market was also up on some short covering.

A Reuters poll on Wednesday showed that Malaysia's palm oil stocks at end-November are likely to touch the 3-million-tonne mark, their highest in recent years, as the drop in exports outpaced lean production.

November production is seen falling 2.1 percent to 1.92 million tonnes, while exports are forecast to drop 10.6 percent to 1.41 million tonnes.

In other related oils, the Chicago December soybean oil contract was down 0.3 percent, while the January soybean oil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell 0.4 percent.

Palm oil is impacted by movements of other edible oils, as they compete for a share in the global vegetable oil market. - Reuters

bagus, bulan depan sudah next year :)

We expect global palm oil prices will only recover next year and until then, we’ll strive to find ways to mitigate the problems soonest,” said Megat Zaharuddin.

On the update of a White Paper on Felda’s strategic rehabilitation plan, he said it would be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat on Dec 10 and the government agency had given all the documents needed by the government.

“We are always in discussions with the Economic Affairs Ministry and they have all the information needed,” he said.

In August, the government said that it would be presenting the White Paper to expose Felda’s real situation and chart ways to revive the beleaguered agency founded in 1956.

On the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification, Megat Zaahruddin said Felda aspired to abide by the rules by getting all of its plantations 100% MSPO-certified next year from 42% at present. — Bernama

Instead of asking the new government to spend money to support the shares price or company to buy back shares, you should attend the AGM and ask the board of directors how to improve the business operation. :)))

Many oil palm smallholders are selling off their land especially those with more than 25 years old trees. They see no future in palm oil. They goreng the land price to RM100k per acre and many city fools rush to buy the land. :)))
