Damn you all who blame Ph for the dismal performance of FGV. FGV started to rot way, way before PH won the PR. Appoint-lah half-past-six and half-baked ex politicians to run a business. C'on do it again.

At a press conference today, TH group managing director and chief executive Zukri Samat said the assets would comprise properties of yields under 2% per annum, such as the land it purchased from 1MDB in 2015 and equities with an impairment of 20%.

This means shares which have dropped 20% since TH acquired them, including its shares in Felda Global Ventures (FGV).

“The value of these assets is based on book value,” he said, adding 80% of the RM19.9 billion comprised equities and the remainder were properties.

best solution is to dissolve FGV.

when you compare Director General salary and Chairman salary which is higher?

High Salaries objective was to give position to cronies.

Chairman does not report to anyone. Last time no fear MACC also.

Director General must still report to Chief Secretary and then Minister and then Prime Minister.

better close down FGV

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad believes Malaysia should look to the future and consider only allowing diesel vehicles which can utilise B10 biodiesel fuel (comprising 10 per cent palm oil biodiesel and 90 per cent diesel fossil fuel) to be sold in Malaysia.

The prime minister called on vehicle manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to work with the government to ensure the success of the country's B10 biodiesel programme, as well as other biodiesel programmes in the future.

"I want the biodiesel programme to be given priority in the National Automotive Policy (NAP), which is currently being drafted by the International Trade and Industry Ministry," said Dr Mahathir at the launch of the B10 Biodiesel Implementation in the Transportation Sector programme in Dataran Putra here on Tuesday.

Also present was Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok.

Earlier, the prime minister drove a B10 biodiesel-powered Peugeot 508 from his office to the Putra Square near the Putra Mosque.

Dr Mahathir also called for the introduction of a higher biodiesel blend to further strengthen domestic palm oil demand, and urged all quarters to prepare for B20 biodiesel (comprising 20 per cent esters methyl palm oil with 80 per cent diesel) by 2020.

He urged the Malaysian palm oil industry to be bold in exploring new markets and to take note of what Indonesia had done by implementing its B20 programme, having made it mandatory since January 2016.

The prime minister described the biodiesel programme as a very crucial one for Malaysia given that oil palm is the country’s “golden crop” and has remained a major component of the economy.

The use of palm oil biodiesel, he said, would have positive impact on the palm oil industry by reducing palm oil stockpile and thus stabilise palm oil prices.

The prime minister said the implementation of the B10 programme on Feb 1 next year would lead to the reduction of greenhouse gases by 1.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

Dr Mahathir said the implementation of the B10 programme was timely due to the cheaper palm oil biodiesel prices compared to diesel fossil fuel.

On attempts by foreign quarters to attack the country’s palm oil industry, Dr Mahathir said his administration would do whatever is necessary to address such attacks.

for company losing money like fgv, pos msia, etc, take time to turnaround.... higher risk, higher return depending on the outcome. You buy now because you believe it could be turnaround or govt policy would help it to turnaround, etc. invest according to your risk appetite, duration, etc... diversify your portfolio to reduce risk... different countries, commodities, forex, gold, etc.. for sharing only

If you want lower risk stock, go for YTL, shariah compliant also, EPF has started buying again... yearly div payout, at least 4sen dividend :)
