KUALA LUMPUR: Datasonic Group Bhd said the government has ordered six additional electronic-gate system (e-gate) from the company for an extra RM1.68mil.


This is on top of the original RM6.98mil contract, announced on Feb 3, to supply 16 units of foreigner e-gate with facial recognition system at the Malaysia-Singapore entry/exit point to the Immigration Department.

The additional orders lifted the contract value to RM8.65mil

今早（2月19日）首相慕尤丁就宣布了#MyDigital 的大马5G以及科技发展蓝图，慕尤丁除了宣布了多项关于落实5G的政策之外，也在#MyDigital 大马数码计划的政策下表示，政府期望在2025年全面落实国家电子身份证“MyDigitalID”。


根据早前大马通讯及多媒体委员会MCMC的说法指出，“国家电子身分证”将会以包括指纹、脸部、瞳孔、名字及出生日期等的电子方式，来识别一个人的身分，让国内民众可以更方便及安全的进行线上交易。

此外，MCMC也表示，这项电子身份证计划也有望避免网络诈骗及身份盗用的案件持续发生，并将给予大马民众多一层的保障。另外，MCMC也承诺，在进行该计划的拟定工作时，一定会纳入及考量民众所给予的意见。



根据早前时任通讯及多媒体部长哥宾星提出的电子身份证，这项计划就涵盖了9大领域包括电子医疗记录、政府协助身份验证、政府在线服务、金融机构电子认识客户”（e-KYC ）、电信验证、电召车验证、教育链接验证、电子商务验证及退休金验证。

根据当时大马通讯及多媒体委员会MCMC发布的例子指出，当涉及政府部门或私人领域，数码身份证可加快各种援助金和津贴计划的处理程序和拨款发放；在电子召车领域，数码身份证也让新司机快速加入行列，因为数码身份证提供实时与高度可信的验证，各大平台在开设新账号若强制使用数码身份证，还可有效阻止电子商业欺诈。

根据当时的构想，电子身份证落实后，人民不需要再记住多个不同的账户和密码，而是可以透过一个全向通道，随时随地都可以安全的处理任何事务，由此不仅能提升效率，也能提升安全性。
