SINGAPORE (June 30): Palm oil resumed an advance as top producer Indonesia considers a plan to increase its biodiesel mandate, a move aimed at slashing its fuel import costs and soaking up bulging edible oil stockpiles.

Futures for September delivery climbed as much as 1.5% to RM4,975 (US$1,129) a ton, reversing an earlier drop of 1.9%, before closing slightly higher. Indonesia may raise the required palm content in biodiesel to 35% from the current 30%, a ministry official said. This could tighten palm oil supplies

BPB do practice forward sell, but our strategy is short period of forward sell.
We take advantage of this forward sell but not the same as other companies.
To capture the most optimum level of price at the time we mainly focus on our long-term contract (with refinery as we are selling certified oil, as if we don’t enter commitment with them, BPB will be facing difficulty to do spot sell basis with them).
It is the industry standard, where plantation players sell based on MPOB average and BPB aims to make profit from premium
BPB’s strategy is to create more premium oil on top of RSPO premium.
In short, our long-term contract is based on agreed volume as per MPOB monthly average price and RSPO premium

MPOB month average CPO RM per MT:
Jan: RM 5,354.50
Feb: RM 5,930.50
Mar: RM 6,867.00
Apr: RM 6,678.00
May: RM 6,873.00
Jun: RM 6,106.00

Bplant's cumulative dividend from 2014 till Q1 2022 is 0.7765

Production figures for Apr 2022 and May 2022 suggest that Q2's results will be better.

Perhaps Bplant will issue 4-5 times dividend for 2022.

Dividend, for lack of a better word, is good. Dividend is a clean drive that "captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Dividend, in all of its forms; dividend for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind." - not Gordon Gekko

Don't think, just buy Bplant and keep for the dividends - not Maverick

i3lurker,

I'm buying Bplant for the dividend. After a certain point, it will be like cold fusion, keeps generating income.

Accumulating more Boustead Holdings for the potential MMC 2.0 type of after-burner rush.

xskyriver,

Q1 revenue and profit from ops are 324.156M and 172.883M respectively.

Q2 productions ought to be higher than Q1. If Bplant sells forward, average prices will be higher. Otherwise, averages prices will be comparable.

So profit from operations should be better. Interests expenses will be lower.

Is there any specific expense items to prevent a net profit of over 100M or 5 EPS?

Possible MBO for Bstead as reported in the news .
LTAT has recently set its strategic plan which entail reducing local equity investment substantially and will likely lead the divestment of Bstead holdings. Management clearly aware of the real value of its assets and therefore try to get hold of it instead of landing in other peoples’ hands.

When new controlling shareholders come in , I believe more value creation exercises and asset monetisation will happen for Bstead and Bplant too. Something good for Bstead and Bplant shareholders to look forward to .

Bplant is a plantation co, of sudden, submarine come out from no where. Circa 80% of bplant shares are held by top 30 share holders, of the 20%, don’t know how many of them are in i3, so I don’t understand what is the point of promoting or spamming bplant page in i3.
