Dr. Lim has been consistently purchasing it's own shares over the years, more so in this year.

Seems surprising that he's buying now in such a bad market sentiment.

Rhonema is still making profit while SCC isn't during pandemic, not to mention Rhonema revenue is doubled compared to SCC revenue.

Go read Rhonema annual report and you will know the exciting expansions ahead with sound balance sheet to support this growth.

Got it. Yeah, I really like the unique moat in the business conducted by Rhone-Ma. I will look into it and conduct my own analysis. Hopefully I get to have some positions here for medium term strategy.

The strategic acquisition of One Lazuli, Nor Livestock (cattle) and Nor Lazuli will boost company's earnings and we believe that Rhone Ma will continue to leverage on its competitive advantage to become the leader in R&D/animal health product.

Prospects - Q3 Sep 2021 Report 16112021

The continued expansion of our capacity and operations through our future plans would provide a platform to grow and sustain our business. The Group will continue to focus on strengthening its production capabilities, product competitiveness and market position, while constantly seeking ways to mitigate the risks associated with its business. The Group will also continue to improve its internal controls and processes based on prudent management practices. In addition to improving on current operations, the Group is vigilant in identifying new business opportunities that has the potential for continuous growth and expansion.

In line with the projected growth of the Malaysian economy, the livestock industry is also anticipated to grow due to the corresponding growing Malaysian population resulting in the demand for meat as a source of protein to soar. The estimated increase in livestock in Malaysia is expected to result in correlating increase in demand for animal pharmaceutical and veterinary products, including animal feed to meet the rising needs. This is expected to augur well for the Group to ride on the growth trajectory in line with the government’s endeavour to develop a sustainable livestock industry in the country for national food security.

We are also anticipating growth in our dairy production business segment due to the projected uptrend in the local market. The production of milk in Malaysia was expected to increase in line with the government’s aim to increase the country’s fresh milk self-sufficiency level to 100% within five years and this will create abundant opportunities for the Group to capitalise on.

The Covid-19 pandemic that has been sweeping the globe in recent times has been anticipated to have a negative impact on the Malaysian macro-economy as well as on the economic welfare of its population. Notwithstanding these developments, the Group which is actively involved in the animal health and nutrition market, is within the ambit of the food industry’s supply chain and the Board is cautiously optimistic of the minimal impact that the pandemic will have on our operations.

Rhone-Ma Holdings Berhad Maintain Overweight

Strategic acquisition of cattle business to boost earnings prospect. Strong recovery from the recent pandemic and the explosive growth for animal health products to further propel the company's financial position. Positive catalysts include future M&A deals, increase in demand for local livestock industry and dairy production. Possible risks: Regulations, rise in raw material costs.

Conservative price target: RM0.85

Strong market color on this one. Valuation not as lofty as other biotech firms on Bursa. I think biotech investing has yet to be discovered on this market because most investors here deploy strategies such as event-driven and basic fundamentals.

Ancom ventures into agrichemical, animal health businesses
28 December 2021 09:02 PM

PETALING JAYA: Ancom Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ancom Crop Care Sdn Bhd, has entered into several share sale agreements to acquire a 80% stake each in Shennong Animal Health (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Vemedim Sdn Bhd for RM23.92 million cash.

Shennong Group is principally involved in the manufacturing and trading of chemical and animal health products which encompass livestock-related antibiotics, feed additives, supplements, and disinfectants mainly for the domestic market.

“As global economies cope with the rising inflation and food prices, we believe businesses that are critical in helping to sustain and secure supply of livestock, such as Shennong Group, are primed for growth. Locally, we are witnessing initiatives by the government to improve the country’s self-sufficiency level. Based on market research, Malaysia’s animal health and nutrition market is poised to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 4.3% between 2020 and 2025.

Rhone Ma inaugurates high quality animal health products factory in Nilai
25 / 01 / 2022 10:34 PM

NILAI, Jan 25 -- In line with efforts to strengthen food security and national biosecurity control, animal nutrition and health manufacturer Rhone Ma Holdings Bhd today inaugurated a new factory at a cost of RM40 million at the Nilai Utama Industrial Estate here.

Managing director Dr Lim Ban Keong said the plant, which started operations in April last year, not only produced high quality and safe animal health and nutrition products for the national market but also exported to Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar.

“We are also in the process of applying for a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) licence from the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) which is expected to be obtained in the second quarter of 2022.

“Since starting operations, this factory has achieved more than 35 per cent production. Our target is to achieve 100 per cent next year, thus increasing the annual production capacity by four times or 2,500 tonnes from the existing one,” he said.

He added that their first plant in Petaling Jaya, Selangor has a GMP licence.

He was speaking to reporters at the opening ceremony of the good manufacturing practice standards factory which was officiated by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and also attended by veterinary director-general Datuk Dr Norlizan Mohd Noor.

Meanwhile, Dr Lim said animal health and nutrition products produced at his factory used its own Rhone Ma brand with Thailand being the largest market, contributed about 48 per cent to their total export earnings last year.

“We also intend to market this product in Taiwan and China. The good response received from foreign markets proves that Malaysian-made products are of high quality, comparable to international products,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin said Rhone Ma made the right decision to choose Negeri Sembilan as the factory site because of its strategic location close to Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley and Putrajaya which is the country's administrative centre.

Apart from that, he said the location was also excellent and provided infrastructure facilities such as excellent road network, electricity, water supply and a competitive telecommunications infrastructure, thus helping Rhone Ma provide the best integrated animal health solutions.

Clearly, establishing the factory has also created many job opportunities for locals and equipping them with competitive skills that are useful for the future.

“I understand that since this factory started operating in April 2021, this company has employed 100 per cent locals. Thank you," he said.
