Water is cool down in a cooling tower. The cool water is then pump into a chiller to condense the refrigerants.

Water is lose to atmospere (evaporation) at the cooling tower.

the surprising run-up of ranhill price could be due to one of these reasons.....
1) entry of a vibrant new major shareholder
2) water tariff hike which will be fully reflected in next qtr
3) being the sole supplier of H2O in a state that is flush with DC projects

also monitor Salcon another water engineering specialist. Berjaya mopping up their shares recently. something is brewing there also? idk but as mentioned here DCs need to use huge amount of water for cooling down.
