Pos Malaysia posts higher profit in 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd's pre-tax profit for the 12-month period ended Dec 31, 2011, increased to RM155.9 million, from
RM99.1 million in the previous corresponding period.
Revenue rose to RM1173.6 million, compared with RM1015 million previously.
"With the new tariff structure for its regulated mail products and the ongoing transformation initiatives, the Board of Directors is optimistic that the Group's performance will be favourable during the financial year," it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
The company has changed its financial year end from Dec 31 to March 31, which was announced to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd on Nov 23, 2011. - Bernama
