AirAsia rises on Singapore hub news

AirAsia Bhd, Asia's biggest budget carrier, rose 1.1 percent to RM3.58 in Kuala Lumpur trading at 9.40am.

The airline may have received Singapore's approval to start a hub there to expand its network, the Malaysian Insider online newspaper reported, citing people it didn't name.

AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes and his deputy Kamarudin Meranun couldn't be immediately reached for comments. -- Bloomberg
