'Govt may tighten fiscal policies'

The government would not hesitate to tighten fiscal policies to curb property speculation and ensure affordable property prices in the country, said Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung.

"Houses should be reasonably priced so that Malaysians can afford to purchase them.

"To ensure sustainable housing development, all parties, including the state government, developers as well as government-linked companies, must keep abreast of real demand and affordability level of locals especially in the Klang Valley," Chor said. - Bernama
