FGV, IHH, MAS now Shariah-compliant

Felda Global Ventures (FGV),IHH Healthcare, Malaysian Airline System (MAS), Gas Malaysia and Oldtown are among the 13 newly classified Shariah-compliant securities listed by the Securities Commission(SC).

The SC today released an updated list of Shariah-compliant securities approved by its Shariah Advisory Council (SAC). The updated list, which will take effect on Nov 30, 2012, features a total of 817 Shariah-compliant securities.

These counters constitute 89 per cent of the total 923 listed securities on Bursa Malaysia, SC said in a statement today. Besides including the 13 newly classified Shariah-compliant securities, it also excluded five from the previous list issued in May 2012.

The other eight newly classified Shariah-compliant securities are Catcha Media, Datasonic, Gabungan AQRS, Globaltec Formation, OCK Group, Paramount Corp,Pasukhas Group and Pestech International.

Meanwhile, the five newly classified Shariah non-compliant securities are Brem Holdings, Gopeng, Naim Indah, OSK Ventures and Tadmax Resources.

The list also indicates that Shariah-compliant securities are well represented in all sectors of industry. The full list, which is updated twice a year, is now available on the SC website at www.sc.com.my.

MAS buyers can be glad of this news. more syariah compliant institutional funds can now start buying it! upside is expected!

Really don't know what to say to SCA; they were classified MAS as Shariah compliant. Their plane serve alcohol. Sudah terang lagi bersuluh. "Yang halal itu jelas, yang haram itu jelas..."
