KUALA LUMPUR (June 12): Inari Amertron Bhd (KL:INARI) soared 11.78% at mid-morning on Wednesday and led the technology-linked stocks on Bursa Malaysia, tracking the overnight rally at Wall Street, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq registering record closing highs.
At 10.45am, Inari rose 41 sen to RM3.89 for a market capitalisation of RM14.5 billion. The stock had earlier climbed to a high of RM3.96.
Meanwhile, the Technology Index of Bursa Malaysia rose 4.63% or 3.59 points to 80.28 points.
Among the tech stock gainers, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (KL:MPI) added 4.88% to RM40.40, KESM Industries Bhd (KL KESM) was up 5.28% to RM6.58, Frontken Corp Bhd (KL:FRONTKN) added 6.76% to RM4.74, Greatech Technology Bhd (KL:GREATEC) gained 3.61% to RM5.46 while Unisem (M) Bhd (KL:UNISEM) was up 3.36% to RM4.31.

In all, we reiterate our Overweight stance on the technology sector. Generally, we expect the sentiment of the technology sector in Malaysia to improve further, underpinned by an anticipated recovery in the global demand for semiconductors and increasing trade diversion opportunities thanks to the China Plus One strategy. Our top picks are INARI and SKP. For INARI, we remain upbeat about the group’s outlook, which is backed by the healthy earnings contribution from the radio frequency segment. Besides, we are excited about the latest progress update on the new project focusing on testing and packaging AIrelated products. Additionally, we believe the new plant in China will become the next earnings driver as it stands a good chance to capitalise on the solid
growth of the semiconductor industry in China. We have a Buy recommendation on INARI with a target price of RM4.30. Our valuation is based on a P/E multiple of 33x against its CY25 EPS, which is about +1 standard deviation above its mean P/E.
