Sector: UTILITIES
Sector: UTILITIES
Subsector: ELECTRICITY
Subsector: ELECTRICITY
Description:
Tenaga Nasional Bhd, or TNB, is the largest electric utility company in Malaysia. The company is involved in the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity. TNB segments its operations into a generation division, a transmission division, and a distribution division. The generation division encompasses the company?s portfolio of thermal and hydroelectric power plants located throughout Malaysia. Through its subsidiaries, TNB also engages in other energy-related operations, such as the manufacturing of transformers and the providing of consulting services. The company primarily generates revenue through the sale of electricity in West Malaysia. Its customers are mainly commercial operations, domestic consumers, and large industrial entities.
I doubt government has the balls to raise electricity price! If government dares to press the hike buttons for electricity and petrol, next election be prepared for huge green tsunami!

Better buy back
Or else let Calvin tell you a true story
During 2020 Glove Super bull one land bank manager bought Topglove before Rm6.00 and sold Topglove before Rm8.00
To her chagrin Top Glove went up to cross Rm10, Rm15 and Rm20
When Topglove reached Rm27 it started to give 2 free bonus for one
She bei tahan and capitulated and bought back Topglove at Rm27
After bonus split Topglove was Rm9.00 but later Topglove crash near 50 sen to her dismay
So better hold tight
Tenaga 🐂 very young like a calf
When fully mature Tenaga will give out
High dividend
Special dividend
Free bonus issue
Free warrants
Then too late to buy back

What? Wrong logic
Govt has increased water price in Penang and Johor
See how Pba and Ranhill up 200 % to 300%
Also Govt raised diesel price by 52%
So rise of electricity is on course
but eletric got TPA means not only tenaga monopoly
other solar panel / renewable energy player / IPP also can direct sell to end user
tenaga only can earn toll fee
so increase price more not really help tenaga but should be negative news
more TPA player will join + solar panel install more agressively
1 day ago
Listen
All solar energy generated can be sold to Tnb in ringgit and then Tenaga resell this "renewable energy" to Singapore in Sing dollar currency
So the more the merrier
I see lots of car charging stations every where in Spore - even in Hdb flats
So better wake up now!!
GG tenaga more and more solar panel will install agressively
revenue come down more and more TPA player will join because margin increase
Tenaga will become benchmark for other TPA player throw price 😂

Solar with Battery Storage:
SAC: 25 sen/kWh
Generation Tariff: ~20 sen/kWh
Total Cost: Approximately 45 sen/kWh

Govt let Ytl power made money
Now Govt also want to make money from Singapore
That is why Tenaga signed agreement with Semcorp, Singapore to sell Renewable Energy to Singapore

calvintaneng is a big master here, not only harvest notion, supermx, Tenaga and also plantation stks..
Tenaga's most valued asset is its transmission line.
I installed a 400KWp solar system for my company. TNB will pay me for my exports under the NEM project, but there will be no more purchasing back after ten years. TNB get everything generated for free. Imagine having a thousand of these solar farms providing electricity for you for free, but you can still sell them.

You can really smell a bull run from 100 miles away
THIS TNB WILL TRANSFORM LIKE BATU KAWAN & UPLANT TO REACH RM20 TO RM30 AND TURN INTO A DIVIDEND CASH COW WITH 7% TO 8% DIVIDEND IN THE FUTURE
And now is the time to take position

As expected, PM would not allow things that burden the RAKYAT! If not, the green tsunami would come in huge!

Actually i already suspect something amiss...normally tariff hike is announced by the regulatory bodies or government ministers...this one is done by TNB...it is like water tariff hike announced by Ranhill or SYABAS or PBA instead of SPAN
1 day ago
Read between the lines
"He added that commercial and industrial users with high electricity consumption and substantial profits would need to pay electricity costs at actual market rates."

Already no tariff increase for electricity for one decade since 2014
Water tariff already up. Diesel subsidy removed and now in Peninsular Disel price is up by 52%
Later Ron95 petrol subsidy will also be removed for the rich
Anyway, from Jan to June Govt will give Rm5.9 Billions cash as "free money" to TNB
If they is no rise of tariff the burden will be borne by all the people still when Govt use more Cash to pay TNB
So how?
Let those who use electricity pay a fair price? or payment still made by all the people through Govt largese?
Either way TNB will still do well
Those who missed PBA & Ranhill bull run doubting water tariff will also miss Tenaga bull run doubting electricity tariff
1 day ago
With Naysayers help Calvin bought Supermax in substantial quantity when doubters and fearful hands sold their Supermax (now too late for regret)
So Naysayers will help us buy more cheap Tenaga shares as well
As a matter of common sense if water tariff is allowed to go up why not electricity tariff?
Use your common sense and just think carefully
1 day ago
Should impose higher tariff on data center, because already 7GW had been approved (or about 30% to 40%) of current Peninsular consumption, and they can afford to pay.
TNB is right to announce the tariff hike as it was already approved by EC (Energy Commission), and now it depends on where the money will be coming from i.e. government or indirectly Rakyat money), specific sector (like data center, E&E), very large users, high domestic users, etc. TNB need to upgrade the grid and to cater for more RE penetration, plus battery and peaker plants to cope with the intermittency.

I think not right to mislead ppl...
If u read the announcement carefully..it is stated the new tariff is "proposed" to be implemented..."proposed" "dicadangkan" which means it has not been firmed yet...
It is like a worker announcing that he proposed his boss to payout bonus this year amounting to 24 months...it is not finalised yet.
Therefore, there could b a hike come July 25 or status quo...or hike for only certain groups of users...but what is clear is that nothing has been agreed upon and is still subject to discussion
17 hours ago
If u go to Energy Commission website there is no agreement on increasing base tariff...only for Kulim High Tech Park....so ya there could b a hike..maybe 14% maybe less maybe no hike at all....maybe another status quo extension
But what i know is that this Tenaga stunt may have pissed off someone in the government
So, conclusion is...no decision firmed yet on new tariff for now....invest safely...
Happy Investing

If base tariff higher = ICPT reduced
If base tariff status quo = ICPT remain high
Its a matter of where you pluck in the fuel cost. 😙

pasar, auntie A told auntie B, she open air con 12hr for her grandchildren everyday, monthly tnb rm600. What you think?
Think like this
Let there be different category of tariffs
1. Retail consumers
Let tariff be minimal to help the rakyat
2. Medium tariff on commercial and industrial factories
3. Heavier tariff on Data Centers and industries that pollute
All will play their roles as all receive benefits
