Description
Gas Malaysia Bhd is a Malaysian gas utility company of which the major shareholder is the state-owned Malaysian energy corporation, Petronas. Gas Malaysia is involved in the distribution and sale of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) within the Natural Gas Distribution System in Peninsular Malaysia. The company segments its operations into Natural Gas & LPG and Others. Nearly all of Gas Malaysia's revenue is derived from its Natural Gas & LPG division. Within this unit, the sale of natural gas generates the vast majority of revenue. Malaysia Gas also receives revenue from sales of LPG, the construction of pipelines, and pipeline usage tolling fees. While the company serves a variety of industrial and commercial consumers, most of its customers are residential entities.

Hi, check in here since recent QR just release. Just my thought, assuming the profit manage to sustain like within Q1 and Q2, at current price 3.42, the conservative estimated dividend yield is 7.4%.
How much potential capital gain?? let's think about it.

Gas Malaysia is cyclical business, same like other oil stocks! Normally the market will not give high valuation on this sort of cyclical business. Once you in profits, must know how to cash out, else will get trap for long!

Gas Malaysia Bhd recorded a third-quarter net profit of RM95.66 million, up 53.4% from RM62.36 million a year earlier, on higher gross profit, finance income and contributions from joint-venture companies.

The high price of gas goes down very fast. Q2 MRP drops from 58 to 48. The following quarter will be 42. Coupled with lower volume of gas sold, the support for the price will quickly turn weak.

This year CAPEX over 200 mil. Initially thought the retained earning in 2022 will be paid out as dividend in 2023 but looks like those cash are to be spent for CAPEX. Safe and boring stock with some risk of going down 10% following the moving trend of the gas price.
