Globetronics Signs MoU with MyDIGITAL Corporation to Drive Digital Innovation in Malaysia

Collaborative Effort to Advance Malaysia's 4IR and ESG Transformation Goals

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 SEPTEMBER 2024Globetronics Technology Bhd  ("GTB" or the “Group”), an established player in the Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (“OSAT”) and semiconductor industry, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Globetronics Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (“GMSB”), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with MyDIGITAL Corporation ("MyDIGITAL"). This strategic partnership aims to foster innovation and accelerate digital transformation initiatives in Malaysia's technology sector.

MyDIGITAL Corporation, an agency under the Ministry of Digital was incorporated as a monitoring agency and Strategic Change Management Office to facilitate the execution of initiatives under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and the National Fourth Industrial Revolution (“4IR”) Policy. As the host centre for the Malaysia Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (“MYCentre4IR”), MyDIGITAL hosts the MYCentre4IR ESG Innovation Challenge. This challenge is designed to promote the adoption of 4IR technologies among Malaysian corporations to effectively address rising Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges.

The MoU between GMSB and MyDIGITAL, which was signed at Bursa Exchange Square, establishes a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing digital innovation and addressing critical ESG challenges through the adoption of 4IR technologies. Under this partnership, both parties will jointly explore and implement cutting-edge solutions in smart manufacturing, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0. This collaboration underscores their commitment to driving Malaysia's digital transformation and achieving sustainable technological growth and ensuring tangible benefits for both organisations and contributing to the nation's broader economic goals.

The Management of GTB commented, "We are excited to collaborate with MyDIGITAL in this significant initiative. This partnership aligns with our commitment to driving innovation and supporting Malaysia's digital transformation goals. By combining our technical expertise with MyDIGITAL's strategic vision, we aim to make substantial contributions to the nation's technological advancement."

The partnership between GMSB and MyDIGITAL also emphasises the importance of collaboration between the private sector and government agencies in achieving national development goals. Both organisations are committed to working together to ensure the successful implementation of the initiatives outlined in the MoU.

Looking forward, GMSB and MyDIGITAL will establish a joint task force to oversee the execution of the projects identified under this partnership. This task force will be responsible for ensuring that the collaboration yields tangible outcomes and contributes to Malaysia's position as a regional leader in digital innovation.
