How many of us expected a stock like SALUTE to shoot upwards like a rocket?

Bear in mind, SALUTE is a net-cash company that made more loss-making than profitable quarters in the past 3 years.

Perhaps some might argue, SALUTE is the true tech stock, in the sense that it owns patents that it can develop new electronic bluetooth devices.

Congratulations to those who profited from the sudden rise in share price.

For those who missed, what's more important is the stocks we hold.

Not everyone has the same strategy.

What's suitable for short term traders may not be suitable for long term investors.

We just need to create a stock investment plan that works for us.

While I'm not one who likes to blow my own trumpet, but I'm glad most stocks in my 2023 watchlist have done not too badly. Usually, companies which have good long term track record and capable of paying dividends over time should see business improve over time and share price follow suit.

CONCLUSION:

The stock market can be very unpredictable.

Sometimes, when everything is doom and gloom, it's already factored in the share price.

Like when SALUTE was at 20sen+ until 40sen+.

Don't panic in a bear market. Falling share prices are normal.

In an inflation environment, holding on to cash may not be the best move.

For my strategy, swapping cash for some quality stocks to hold for long term is better. I had been more on a stock collection mode since I started blogging here. I shall continue to acquire more stocks, for I think Malaysia still has room for growth. Surely it cannot be worse than during Covid lockdown times, right?

After all, the KLCI is at the lower end. There could be lower downside and more upside from now, despite much news about the impending US recession.
