内政部长近期被揭露，已经在4月的18号正式提出放弃上诉禁止非穆斯林使用阿拉字眼的案件。这件事情提出之后，引起许多穆斯林NGO、马来政党以及个别马来议员的反弹。政治学者黄进发博士就认为，政府在推行政策的时候缺乏政策沟通，没有引导民众接受改动，让在野党有空间往种族和宗教的方向炒作。
