Armchair travelers can now take a stroll through Central Park one minute, and then teleport to the Museum of Modern Art the next via a new portal that groups together all the New York City attractions that can be visited virtually.

Virtual NYC holds appeal for both virtual visitors and local New Yorkers alike, the latter of whom are sheltering in place, often in smaller apartments than in the rest of America.

The site rounds up online resources like museums, galleries, theatres, attractions and other venues throughout the five boroughs, for online visits that bring NYC to connected homes around the world.

Visitors can lace up their shoes for a virtual, 30-minute walk that starts at West 72nd Street, and takes them through the heart of the park, past sites like the Imagine Mosaic at Strawberry Fields, Wagner Cove, Bethesda Terrace and The Glade. The visit is led by a conservancy guide.

They can also take a virtual walk along the Brooklyn Bridge, visit the MoMa, and learn the secrets held within Grand Central Station.
