E-Mini Dow

 

U.S. stock futures were trading flat on Tuesday as investors parsed through the earnings report from JPMorgan Chase and awaited results from Wall Street banks such as Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo.

 

The largest U.S. bank by assets slipped 1.2% premarket reversing an initial gain of about 1% after it reported quarterly results. Shares of Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo, were trading flat to marginally higher.

E-Mini S&P 500


Stocks finished lower on Tuesday though they remained close to the all-time highs recorded at the start of the week, major stock indexes snapped multi-day winning streaks.


The S&P 500 closed in the red for the first time in six days, down 0.3%. The S&P has added more than 650 points, almost a 28% run, since its December lows that cxame during the market-wide meltdown in the fourth quarter.

All three benchmarks finished at all-time highs on Monday, adding onto six closing records last week. The S&P 500 surpassed its most recent record by just about half a point.

Plan A : Sell if market failed to support above 3003.50. Targets are 2988.25 and 2978.75.

Entry : Below 2998.75, do not enter.


Plan B : Buy only if market retraced but supported firm above 2983.25. Targets are 2996.75 and 3010.00.

E-Mini Nasdaq

Sellers came into the stock market Tuesday after President Donald Trump said the U.S. is still a long way from a trade deal with China and that there is a possibility of more tariffs on Chinese imports. 

The Nasdaq Composite closed 0.4% lower. It had been in the green for past two days in a row before the correction. The Nasdaq today was led by J.B.Hunt Transport Services, United Airlines and American Airlines.


Stocks in Europe drifted, U.S. equity futures edged higher and Asian shares were mostly down as continuing U.S.-China trade tensions offset a raft of solid corporate earnings and economic data. The dollar held near a one-week high.

HSI/HSI Warrants

Hong Kong stocks ended a tick higher on Tuesday as investors awaited U.S. retail sales data and corporate earnings to gauge the health of the world’s biggest economy ahead of a likely U.S. rate cut later this month.

 

The Hang Seng index ended up 0.2% at 28,619.62, while the China Enterprises Index also closed 0.2% higher at 10,865.52 points.

Oil prices turned lower on Tuesday, falling by about $2 a barrel as U.S. President Donald Trump said progress has been made with Iran, signaling tensions could ease in the Mideast.

Gold prices fell on Tuesday after better-than-expected U.S. retail sales data lowered expectations of an interest rate cuts by the U.S. Federal Reserve and boosted the dollar.
