Malaysia has just established a new world record of having the greatest number of Covid 19 cases per capita in the world. We have a total of 1.01 million Covid 19 cases and 7,994 deaths for our population of 32 million people. 1 in 32 people has Covid 19 virus. Unfortunately, the number of new Covid 19 cases is still surging as show on the chart below.
A few days ago, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said quote "All factories must remain close".
Extension of the 3 months lockdown
Due to the rapid increase of Covid 19 cases, the government has already lockdown the whole country in the last 3 months. Now the government has to extend the lockdown period for another few months until 80% of all the people are fully vaccinated.
During lockdown all factories including Hiap Teck and all other steel companies and all construction companies must remain close. As a result, all steel companies and construction companies will definitely lose money because they have to pay their permanent staff, office maintenance, depreciation of assets, bank loan, etc.
All these companies will definitely report reduced profit or losses in the next few quarters.
Even if Hiap Teck could produce during the lockdown, building contractors do not need to buy Hiap Teck’s products because their workers cannot work during the lockdown. Just open your eyes, you can see all the construction works have stopped.
All investors should have some common sense to know this fact and quickly sell all their stock holdings like what I did a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, Mr Ooi Teik Bee has not stop sending out his weekly buy recommendations for Hiap Teck.
On 17 July, Mr Ooi Teck Bee’s weekly news letter under the title “Hiap Teck- Unearthing the jewel of the east (Steel stock).
Investors with some common sense should know that Hiap Teck will surely report reduced profit in the next few quarters.

Moving towards blast furnaces
To put things into perspective, there are only two major steel players operating blast furnaces currently — Alliance Steel and Eastern Steel.
In general, a blast furnace is three times more capital-intensive than an electric arc furnace (EAF) but its steelmaking cost composition including raw materials is about 25% lower than the latter’s.

Blast furnace of ESSB will help to save RM 100 million a year.
Hence the profit of Hiaptek will be good in FY 2022.

Under the guidance of the iron and steel reduction policy, some domestic steel mills have announced maintenance plans. Taking Jiangsu Province as an example, the total crude steel output from January to June was 63.58 million tons, an increase of 12.77%. In order to complete the target for the whole year, Jiangsu's leading sample steel mills will need to reduce their output by more than 4 million tons in the second half of the year. In order to meet the needs of the domestic market, imported semi-finished products are then rolled into the first choice of most steel mills. Chinese steel mills are actively looking for opportunities to import billets.
According to Mysteel, the import price of general billet in the recent market is about US$710-725/ton CFR Jiangyin Port, an increase of US$24-28/ton on a week-on-week basis. Part of the low-cost resources from India are about US$700/ton, but considering that the Indian epidemic may cause ships to be unable to dock or stay for 14 days to enter the port, most buyers are cautious about Indian resources

ESSB will increase the capacity from 700,000 MT to 1.5 million MT in FY 2022.

Reduced profit normal lah! Even kindergarten kid knows that when companies are forced to operate below capacity. Reduced profit does not mean end of the company, just a little longer wait mah.
If sexual intercourse is compared to QR result then delayed ejaculation and longer period gives immense pleasure. Ultimately, the ending would be EXPLOSIVELY pleasant for both mah.

My husband KYY is a bad loser.After forcing to sell HiapTeck due to margin limit he is now seeking revenge.I am so sad he keep attacking OTB who is an honest person.OTB is no a person to make U turns.Many time KYY cannot pay his dogs Aaron_tan and pang72 he ask me to sleep with them.pay in kind for asking them to attack steel shares forum.

I like to see KYY's rebuttal of OTB's points here. OTB is calling you a big lier here, unless you can counter his points above, I am inclined to agree with OTB.
I would like KYY to remember his final sentense of his article in bold:---
"Investors with some common sense should know that Hiap Teck will surely report reduced profit in the next few quarters." In particular last three words "next few quarters". Common sense will tell me that kyy will never buy Hiap Teck in the next 12 months. I hope he will not curu curi buy Hiap Teck during the present weakness !!
