1 Its not a trade war. Its a geo political war to stop the rise of China. Its bipartisan and Democracrats are as likely to support as are Republicans
2 China to buy more soya is not a problem for China. But for China to give up its sovereignty is a redline that cannot be crossed.
3 Wall Street media is there to support Wall Street, get people to buy shares and to support America. Wall Street media cannot be depended on to give the whole picture.
4 Its unlikely DT is willling to reverse tarifs already in place. Do not expect DT to have any thing on the table.
5 Divorce is only possible outcome. Both sides should be ready for it. China has been preparing for it. America not. Wall Street will be surprised.
6 Hopefully September is a good month on the back of October meeting and optimism.

Both sides also used Hong Kong for their own agenda.
China test water if faster remove democracy to see the reaction from everyone.
China tried to see if Taiwan can accept less democracy.
USA used Hong Kong as a bargaining chip. Although everyone knows China doesn't care if Hong Kong is dead or alive as it just affects 2% of its GDP.
China instead wants Taiwan. After sucked dry like Hong Kong, Taiwan will also be desserted.

The generation of Mao n Deng has long gone. Xi belongs to another generation. A lot of PRC's young ppl are educated in overseas universities n will bring further change n progress when their time comes.
PRC is no longer communist. It is a hybrid between socialism n capitalism.
If the west really wants a more open PRC, they should not shut their universities to these young ppl like Trump is doing. Trump is actually trying to contain China using trade war.

the 3 stages of china's developments
Mao's self strengthening
Deng's opening up
Xi's socialism with Chinese characteristics with emphasis on environment, harmony, social and wealth equality.
By 2050, China's GDP to be several times that of US. Trump can't change that.
