KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 — Former Youth and Sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman today said that he rather lose all his position then backing Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s leadership.

Syed Saddiq was replying to his former special officer Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal who had announced on Twitter that after a two-hour meeting with Muhyiddin yesterday he has decided to support the Pagoh MP’s leadership as prime minister.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to join you as I rather lose all my positions than my moral conscience.

“Sampaikan salam kepada Tan Sri. (Send my regards to Tan Sri),” Syed Saddiq posted as a reply on his Twitter account.

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal’s in his Twitter posting said after his meeting with Muhyiddin that lasted almost two hours, he was convinced that the prime minister should continue to lead the country.

His post had attracted over 1,000 comments, including from critics who reminded him of his tweets on February 29, in which he voiced his support for Syed Saddiq and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Among others, he had retweeted Syed Saddiq’s response to the situation within Bersatu, emphasising a need to uphold personal integrity rather than just be a part of the majority.

After much reflection, all this started with the PH Presidential Council of which Tun M, DS Anwar, Lim KS, Lim GE and others are member. They should all take responsibility for the mess as they and only they agreed just before GE14 as candidates (the treacherous MPs that had leap-frog away) and accepting Bersatu as partner of PH and now they are gone. And most knew what character they are of.

Like in the "so-called" western countries that are "democratic" and of principled people (that we all aspired to be), they - Tun M, DS Anwar, Lim KS, Lim GE should immediately resigned to take responsibility. Anything less is an affront to the voters that have voted for PH. And worse of all, they said they are not responsible and pointing fingers at everyone else except themselves - what a disgraced, a damn lousy example you all are setting, especially those that are writing apology for them.

Now is the time for the so call young progressive members (e.g Nurul, Wan Saiful, etc) of all these political parties to stand up and take over the leading from all these old leaders that are totally bankrupt of any new ideas to lead and of no moral standing whatsoever..

@tecoct "After much reflection"..
sorry to say, you have reflected wrongly la.. pls reflect again..

PH is in an impossible position to win the political game .

sabotage from inside n outside

the majority race mentality is not ready for the PH concept n feel insecure with a govt, where members duduk sama rendah, diri sama tinggi.

not easy to change one's self-belief, even tougher for a society to accept something new, that is alien to what they are brought up to believe.

need time maybe nxt 2-3 generations, future with the younger gen.as you say.

but the past n current PH leaders have fight the good fight, to set the path ahead for Msia,

pls be grateful for their sacrifices, to make Msia a better place for everyone.

LGE even offer to resign at finance minister n reduce ministers post in new PH govt, according to news..
