KUCHING: Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin says he had received a phone call asking him to switch his support to Pakatan Harapan.

The Deputy Plantations Industry and Commodities Minister said the call came despite Pakatan's claims to have the numbers to form the Federal Government.

He made it clear that he was not interested but wanted to help the people.

"No need to call again, I am not interested. I want to focus on helping the people. Thank you," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Aug 3) night.

However, he did not reveal who had made the call.

In a subsequent post on Wednesday (Aug 4), Willie said he would continue to stay calm and work for the people.

Willie and Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju were among three MPs from Sarawak who quit PKR in February last year before the Pakatan government fell.

Both Willie and Ali subsequently joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and were appointed deputy ministers.
