We're at war with gambling syndicates but we cannot rule out some cops being in cahoots, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has not denied the possibility of there being police officers in cahoots with gambling syndicates after illegal gambling dens started to emerge around Klang Valley once again.
The IGP said there were also certain parties who had used his name and Bukit Aman to enable the gambling dens to operate but in fact, Bukit Aman was at war against such syndicates.
"I received information two weeks ago that my name was being used to give 'permission' for gambling syndicates to operate, so long as it's on the first level of a shophouse on a commercial premise.
"We have been at war with illegal gambling all these times. I'm not denying that there is a small possibility that some police officers are involved with such syndicates," he said as reported by Berita Harian.
The daily reported that several online gambling services have been discovered across the Klang Valley last week and alleged that several police officers and other enforcement agencies personnel were involved with the syndicate.

I read on thestaronline that Malaysian illegal gambling business turnover is RM20 Billion per month compared with the drugs business of only RM20 Billion per year.
Gambling business is 12X bigger than the drugs business.

Answer : That is why underworld bosses can pick and choose top police officers! What is spending few millions a month to bribe top police officers! We all know this! But government of the day so blind! 10 yeas later say the same thing, police will get rid of the bad hats! I have heard this like gazillion times!
