KOTA BARU: Pas is ready to face the 15th General Election (GE15) should it be called 'anytime soon', says Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
The Pas vice president said there is a chance that the general elections will be held soon as the current Parliament term has entered its fifth year.
"Pas has no problem if the GE15 is called anytime from now as we are ready for it. We will wait for the date patiently," he said.
The Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar told this to reporters after the State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) appreciation programme last night.
Also present were Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and SEDC group excutive officer Abdul Aziz Yunus.
Mohd Amar added that it was right of the people to choose who would govern them.
"All political parties have their own track records and voters can make their choice based on such records.
"If Umno or Pakatan Harapan want to appoint a menteri besar, the people must evaluate this and compare them with Pas," he said.
On allocation of seats, Mohd Amar, who is also Panchor assemblyman, said the matter was still being discussed.
"This is being done by Pas headquarters and a special committee has been tasked to handle it.
"We (in the states) do not discuss about seats allocation and will wait for the decision (from the headquarters) .
"Even now, we do not know the number of seats that Kelantan Pas will be contesting in GE15." he said.
