Limit-down counters including YNH Property, Rapid Synergy, SCIB regain lost footing in early trade

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 23): All ten counters that had hit limit-down over the past two weeks due to selling pressure regained their footing on Bursa Malaysia after the opening bell on Tuesday.

These included YNH Property Bhd, Rapid Synergy Bhd and Sarawak Consolidated Industrial Bhd (SCIB).

On Tuesday morning trade, YNH Property saw its share price increase by 35.1% or 19.5 sen to 75 sen, the day after it opened limit-down at 55.5 sen. It emerged among the most active stocks on Bursa Malaysia with a trading volume of 135.4 million shares, continuing its momentum after hitting an all-time high of 218.95 million on Monday.

Meanwhile, Rapid Synergy Bhd also saw its share price rise by 16.4% or 32 sen to RM2.27 after extending losses over the past two weeks. The stock has emerged among the top active stocks on Bursa Malaysia with a trading volume of 82.5 million shares during Tuesday’s morning trade. In comparison, the stock was barely traded since the beginning of the selling pressure on Jan 9, with a cumulative volume of 6.9 million shares.

SCIB, on the other hand, continued to pare its losses after the opening bell on Tuesday. At the time of writing, its share price was up by 13.8% or six sen to 49.5 sen, with a trading volume of 160.4 million shares. Just Monday, the counter, which hit limit-down last week, saw its share price surge 14.5 sen to 43.5 sen from Friday’s close.

Jentayu Sustainables Bhd, which was also among casualties of the heavy selling pressure last week, began slashed losses as its share price rose 39.5% or 21.5 sen, with a trading volume of 29.5 million shares, at the time of writing.

Other similarly hit counters that were among the gainers after the opening bell on Tuesday included Widad Group Bhd (up 2.5 sen to 16 sen), Heitech Padu Bhd (up 3.5 sen to 92.5 sen), Artroniq Bhd (up 3.5 sen to 36 sen), Mercury Securities (up three sen to 50 sen), and Silver Ridge Bhd (up 9.5 sen to 48 sen), at the time of writing.

Separately, Tanco Holdings Bhd’s share price remained unchanged at 49 sen at the time of writing. Nonetheless, it hit an intra-day high at 51.5 sen on Tuesday, up 2.5 sen from its previous close.
