THE Defence Ministry is currently obtaining feedback from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) on proposals to cancel the Black Hawk helicopter lease contract.

“The Defence Ministry is getting legal views and advice from the AGC regarding this issue,” the ministry said in a brief written reply dated June 27.

The ministry was responding to Commander (Rtd) Nordin Ahmad Ismail (PN-Lumut) who wanted to know the ministry’s plans following reports that the Malaysian Army will propose cancelling the contract due to delays in the delivery of the first of four helicopters this year.
