GEORGE TOWN: Intermittent heavy rain and strong winds again wreaked havoc in various parts of the state, leaving trails of destruction.

Among the worst hit was Tanjung Bunga here and Bagan Ajam in Butterworth.

Photos and video footage of the chaos in Tanjung Bunga had gone viral.

State Infrastructure Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said there were at least 10 incidents of uprooted trees in his Tanjung Bunga constituency itself.

He said they included Jalan Tanjung Bunga, Jalan Lembah Permai, Jalan Kampung Tanjung Bunga, Tree Square, in front of the Azuria Apartment, Jalan Lembah Permai /Bukit Salbiah and Puncak Bukit Mutiara 1.

"We advise the people to be careful and abide by all instructions of the authorities on the field," he said.
