The FBM KLCI gained marginally by 1.81 pts and closed above the 1,690 level amid buying interest within selected index heavyweights. The key index may retest the 1,700 resistance level.

Crude Palm Oil: RM2,609 (+RM11, +0.42%)
Crude palm oil steadied around the RM2,600 level, signalling a potential boost of buying support, which may lead to a short term rally towards the RM2,700 level.

WTI Crude Oil: $47.62 (+$2.12, +4.63%)
Crude oil surged strongly above the US$46 level on the back of a bullish inventories data; the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that the inventories decreased by 14.5 mln barrels last week.

Gold: $1,338.30 (-$7.46, -0.55%)
Gold closed lower as traders were digesting the latest U.S. data, coupled with the comments from ECB. Based on short term technicals, gold may extend its retracement towards US$1,310.
