The FBM KLCI (-0.03%) lingered around the marginal line in the morning and moved positively throughout most of the afternoon session. However, the index dipped into the negative as the session ended, affected by selling pressure, mainly from Maxis. Market breadth turned negative as 413 negative stocks outpaced 334 positive stocks while 450 stocks traded unchanged. Energy stocks as a whole performed positively throughout the day, with KNM Group (+6.5 sen), Sapura Energy (+0.5 sen) and Velesto Energy (+0.5 sen) spearheading the positive activity.
