I guess BA investors will have to wait 52 weeks for a new year high. That is the pattern. Small rally in January, then sideways or down next 12 months. We are a very patient, tolerant bunch. Like no others.

Our case for Bumi Armada is that it is a play on the commodities sector, specifically oil. We think that this company is a good diversification tool — although a risky one — given its stock beta of 2.0. The recovery of oil price should see increasing amounts of activities within the oil and gas sector, and as such companies within the value chain such as Bumi Armada stand to benefit from it.

Try to tell the small investors that BAB is NOT related to the price of oil and crude at $91.5+ should be ignored.

You would be right, but they do not listen.

Just when you thought things were going worse and worse we got a nice surprise. Looks OK today.

70+ $/barrel oil is a very good price.

Many new projects coming online. Prices of assets are increasing. Modest order book is a good thing as last minute contracts will fetch higher prices. This is the reward for taking risk.

Order at $30 oil was a shoe string type of deal.

We will have some excitement here once we approach annual highs. Could be by year end or after quarterly results.

I will get some at 0.51 for short term. Makes sense to me. What the heck...

Can't be too happy about today, but correction is needed.

I have been at this point 2 times already. BAB reached 0.5 MYR and plunged. But somehow I feel this time it will be broken. Company is much stronger, no longer story or momentum.

New floor will be establish where once was a ceiling.

Electric planes. Sounds good, but it is a scam. Physically not possible. Most weight would be used by batteries, instead of cargo or passangers. Hydrocarbons have a long way to go.

Buying 12 mln shares at 0.41 myr by the president is a very, very good piece of news.

My girlfriend worries that BA is too ethnic, because of bumi in the name. She thinks it may be politically manipulated entity. But I think that it is an international, well run company that will continue to surprise with result. (she knows nothing of BA beyond name and business type).

Good to take advantage of wrong perception. Buy and wait.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 15): RHB Retail Research said Bumi Armada Bhd is staging a strong uptrend after breaching the resistance level on improved volume yesterday.

In a trading stocks note today, the research house said that premised with a “higher low” pattern formed above the 21-day SMA line, the renewed bullish momentum above 48.5 sen (resistance turned-support) level would propel the stock towards the next resistance of 54 sen, followed by the 60 sen multi-year high.

“This expectation will be void if it drops below the 45.5 sen support level,” it said.

Well, I am from here and had Armada for 5 years.
I do not mind hearing about Serba as story is very similar.
Turnaround after financial panic.
But oil at 70+ leaves a lot of room to manouver.

They both will bounce off the consolidations.

I already bought serba dk. 777 shares. It is very much compatible with Armada. Though it belongs to different category, industrial services.

...Our valuation still has opportunities for upward adjustments, including if the FPSO Limbayong contract is awarded, FPSO performance continues to be strong, and higher oil prices stimulate confidence in the oil and gas sector.

As for the risks of downgrades, they include the inability to dispose of excess assets, resulting in the company having to raise funds to meet loans and debt repayments that will mature in 2024.

Nevertheless, this is at least 3 years from now, so it will not have a significant impact on the current forecast.

We downgrade the rating from "Buy" to "Hold" because the stock price has risen sharply.

Bumi Armada's 49%-owned JV company entered into a licence agreement with the Board of Trustees for the Port of Mumbai (MBPT) to set-up, operate and maintain a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Mumbai harbour for a period of 30 years. Comments: Under the License Agreement, both parties will have approx. 9 months to fulfil certain conditions comprising of financing, obtaining permits for construction works, and signing of the agreement between the FSRU owner, charterer and JV Company for providing the FSRU for the License Period. Upon the fulfilment, the License Agreement will become effective and the License Period shall commence. Construction works for FSRU is expected to take about another 1.5 – 2 years hence earnings will only contribute from late FY23 onwards. While this could be positive on BAB’s future earnings, we are curious on how BAB is going to finance this job due to its stretched balance sheet with 2.4x net gearing. Pending more development on this and its 1QFY21 results next week, we maintain our earnings forecast at this juncture.

London-listed Cairn has agreed to sell its interests in the UK North Sea Catcher and Kraken fields to Waldorf Production Limited for a cash consideration of US$460 million plus additional contingent consideration dependent mainly on oil prices from 2021 to the end of 2025.

The consideration is subject to adjustments for working capital and other customary interim period adjustments from the economic effective date of January 2020.

Under the deal, Cairn will sell its entire 20 percent interest in the Catcher field and 29.5 percent interest in the Kraken field.

As already mentioned, the firm consideration of US$460 million. Additional uncapped contingent consideration dependent on oil prices and production performance from 2021 to the end of 2025: generating ~US$75 million at US$60 Brent and ~US$125 million at US$65 Brent.

The completion of the deal is completion currently expected in H2 2021

Simon Thomson, Chief Executive of Cairn said: "The divestment of our UK producing assets as they move into decline phase, will further strengthen our ability to pursue Cairn's strategic goals and position the company robustly for the decade ahead."

In a separate statement, Cairn, together with Cheiron announced the proposed acquisition of a portfolio of upstream oil and gas production, development and exploration interests from Shell in the Western Desert, onshore Egypt for a purchase price of US$646 million (US$323 million net to Cairn).

The deal also includes an additional contingent consideration of up to US$280 million (US$140 million net to Cairn) if certain requirements are met.

Capricorn Egypt, a subsidiary of Cairn, will take 50% of the assets, with the remaining 50% acquired by Cheiron.

Dropping of share price just before announcement is NOT a good sign. But this can hopefully be attributed to the general market sentiment. Insiders were not trading much anyway. Their options are probably worthless. So do not give up. Fund managers on most part do not know what they are doing. Reddit group proved it when they destroyed hedge fund forcing billion funding.
