@josh, i bought hapseng last year oct at 1.49 and sold this year Jul at 1.8. i would re-enter again if it drop back to 1.5. good counter indeed.

@euscilyn, no one will know after the ex-div or bonus issue whether the price will goes up or down. If you believe Huayang is a good counter, then keep for long term. If you just want to get the dividend and sell it after ex-date/ bonus issue, then better to try your luck in Genting.... :-)

@petracat, agreed with you. But there are better stock out there to look at compared to this. Somemore, this counter doesn't pay any dividend.

my remisier told me the chart looks like going to rebounce, but she told me that genting is the leader for kl index, when up, genting will up first, of course when down, genting will goes down first, kind of worrying.....dont feel want to put so much money in FD.... :-) monitor for a few more days first....@KC, thanks for your comments :-)

i was like you previously, do some study before investing...

if wanna get special dividend, consider mediac, the company is much more stable and giving 5% dividend yield yearly.....

1) If I sell the stock at 15/8/2012 before 12.30pm, will I entitle for dividen? (YES)
2) If I sell the stock after 15/8/2012 after 12.30pm, will I entitle for dividen? (YES)
3) If I buy a stock at 15/8/2012, will I get dividen? (NO)
4) If I buy a stock at 14/8/2012 and before, will I get dividen? (YES)

Buy before the Ex-date, you will get the dividend, even thought you sell it the next day, but the price on Ex-date will be adjusted lower.

the company is running in a loss, no point to hold the shares for long term just because of the dividend...

something like 既生伟,何生丹? LD had a better mentality....but Datuk was great and consistent all the while, we were proud with Datuk's performance.....

it is testing 9.00 now....

personally, i would say it is a good opportunity to accumulate the shares now...eventually it will fly back to the previous high at 11....or even higher, as per LKT's business plan....

@babu, not necessary. If the result is good, the price will be back to 10 in few days time....The price now is in a very very attractive level, but not the dividend. The recent price drop might be due to the 10 cents dividend charity talks by lim kok thye.... :-) Overall, the fundamental of genting is still very strong...

Re. our report dated May 2, the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) is still not concluded as yet, raising concerns on coal supply which might render the Group's 1,440 MW power plant in India idle. True, the delay is longer than expected but as we indicated, coal supply commitment might be affected, not coal supply. Moreover, coal prices have retreated more than 40% ytd, which could help CI to be more accommodative with the FSA terms, due to lower 'subsidy' burden.

same like mulpha, this counter having active share buy back, but the share price is hardly moved. Anyway, i have the feeling that this counter is flying soon to RM 1.....
