1) Trading is not easy. It requires a lot of time, efforts and resources $$$.
2. Common mistake: Influenced by "somebody" with hidden agenda. Emotional : tends to sell when see the price going down; usually buy high sell low.
3. Trading courses: some good, some waste of money.
4. Set your target, be patient, don't get emotional when price down. DO NOT show your frustration to your family when making a loss.

ie, i'm still holding hapseng, which is my first counter in investing. I think this counter is worth for holding in long term. I sold Axiata in 2 months as it reaches my preset target earlier. Trading is part of investing, right? :-)

I have yet to buy any investment book, but opted to read those basic trading rules online....I learnt from my lesson and started to read company's annual report, news, announcement and set my own strategy in trading. Patient would be the key factor in any trading.

Agreed. It is not as simple/easy as newbies think of. I.e, I started 9 months ago and paid heavily in the first 6 months for not doing my homework. However, I was lucky to have it break even now in my portfolio. Look forward to a more positive trading in near future :-)

i think 8k is having a good personality despite being conned by MEGAN. He is very dedicated and meticulous in his investment. Perhaps a little stubborn as he choose to ignore the advices from the friends (perhaps from GOD):-) Other than choosing the wrong counter, he is well respected being an investor. Those losing money because of MEGAN shouldn't blame him as every purchase is at your own risk. That's the risk if you press the buy button by believing someone rather than do your home work. 8K's articles are still worth of reading nowadays.....

not much of competitor in the market, and Malaysia Steel Association is now putting pressure on government to impose tax for imported steel product, think would be a good move for local steel manufacturer....

honest speaking, i dont think there will be any bonus issue in the near future as the company is looking for possible M&A currently. If the company can secure the Petronas contract for long term supply of high grade steel, there would be a big boost on their earning, as well as share price....

i just locked in yesterday....and looking forward to its better performance in second half of the year. The mini blast furnace is running ok at this moment and it probably reduce the cost and boosting the profit then....the price now is in its history low. Limited down side, that's what i can see for now....buy at your own risk.

kian wei, i truly agreed. I was a mutual fund agent before venting into share investment. I sold all my mutual funds and put it into shares, when i realized the TRUE of the mutual fund. :-) luckily it is still not too late :-)

Definitely CIMB would not want Affin to go up because they issued Affin CF, Expiry date: 30/08/2012, Exercise price: 3.00....now traded at RM0.07, conversion Ratio 3:1. Mother price at RM 3.08. Never trust them !!! Do your homework better.

perhaps this counter is exposure to external risk like the recent IPP issue in India, etc....Think fund manager won't put much money in it due to the volatile of share prices...see, from 2.20 to 3.00 (36%) from Jan to Mar, dropped back to 2.50 in April....just my twp-cents

Agreed. If you have done your homework. There is good counter for making money...i.e, 10% in 2 weeks for WCT...

eagleis, you are right. i remembered i read somewhere that a good company wont simply announces right and bonus issue, because it means the company is asking MONEY from its shareholders......

it will rebound...soon. I'm still queuing at 1.7.thought....
