Looking at the efficient performance of Latitude, I have no problem to reinvest my deserved dividend back into the company. Reason is that I dun think I can find a better investment with the given dividend (assume they give div). If the company doesn't have any expansion plan & not utilising the excess cash effectively, then it should return the money to shareholders through dividen payout. In the case of Latitude, I m happy to leave my money with them.

@damagpie. U r right. Latitude is fantastic. It's operatng margin in yr 2012, 2013, 2014 are 3.84%, 7.61% and 11.04% respectively. Notice the increment? Thanks to the cost efficiency of operation in Veitnam.

At closing price of 3.72, enterprice value, EV = 319mil. The TTM EBIT = 70.4mil. Earning yeild, EY = 22%, which is very good. If we flip the norminator&denominator of EY we got EV/ EBIT = 4.53, indicating Latitude is still very cheap. How cheap? According to WarranB, if you happen to encounter EV/EBIT<7, you probably found a good deal! You wanna but Latitude from me at EV/ EBIT = 4++? At your dream la.

PJ Dev Wa has long expiry date and trade almost at it's intrinsic value. It is deep in the money. The problem is that the historical volatility of underlying share is too low, 26.5%. The implied volatility of warrant is much higher, 40.8%. The mom is suppressing the son. The mom has to move forward at faster rate so that the son can unleash it's potential.

What % of holding is LTH looking for before lighting up the wok?
2014-09-15 18:37 | Report Abuse
Share cap after additional listing of ESOS on 12/9/14 = 1,760,178,299
LTH holdng up to 10/9/14 = 175,028,073
Percentage = 9.94% compared to 10%++ previouly due to dilution effect. I think total minority share holding has dropped significantly due to continuoesly selling combined with dillution effect.

Valuation base on financial statement is looking at rear view mirror. In this case, I believe looking at the windscreen will offer clearer view. I m not in KL or JB. Therefore, I really appreciate those who can tell me what they can see beyond the windscreen.

Some simple financial ratios of MRCB:
(liquidity)
Current ratio = 1.14 < 2 FAIL
(longterm financial strength)
Debt/Equity = 1.70 < 2 PASS
Liability/Equity = 2.24 < 3 PASS
Asset/Eqyity = 3.24 > 2 PASS
Conclusion: MRCB has pretty strong balance sheet. The only problem is lack of liquidity. The toll collection is the best remedy for the problem. It is immediate hard cash.
(Management efficiency)
Net working capital = 81.5mil
Other operating asset = 2,057.9mil
Invested capital = 2,139.3mil
TTM EBIT* (1 - tax rate) = 81.6mil (excluding disposal gain of 94.9mil)
ROIC = 3.81%
Conclusion: The return on invested capital is extraordinarily low indicating inefficient utilisation of asset.
What MRCB need to do: Generate more liquid asset to improve liquidity. Employ brilliant financial architects to impliment more efficient operation.

There is a very quiet fundamentally sound IT counter called Microln. Insas owns Inari&Formis. Formis bought Microln early this yr. I think the complicated corporate structure has hidden Microln from investors' radar. This counter is a net cash company that pay 8% dividend last yr.

TA recommended by remisier TP 2.16. FA recomanded by me:
At 1.9, Hevea's enterprise value, EV is 262.9mil. With TTM operating profit, EBIT of 37.4mil, the ratio EV/ EBIT is 6.18, which is lower than WarrenBuffet's magical no. of 7. If we flip it around to get the share price that match the magical no. 7, the share price is 2.25. In other words, WarranBuffet will justify a value buy call even at the price of 2.25.

@kenntnam. So good to have old bird like you who can smell mistakes easily. @calvin. So good to have you who have 1st hand news of everything. I know there are plenty of silent readers out there. Please share so that you can correct ppl & get yourselves corrected. @Go4Share. If liquidity is low there are 2outcomes:
1.) low volatility. The counter I'll become unpopular
2.) high volatility caused by insider's acts of goreng

MRCB is fundamentally kaput. Why foreign bankers & both foreign & local funds buy it?

@kennynam. You can check the change in shareholding under disclosure. The bursa announcements will tell you the number of shares these major shareholders own after each transaction. Divide the numbers by the latest number of share outstanding in quarter report will give you the most updated %shareholding of each major shareholder.
2014-09-10 19:34 | Report Abuse
EPF, Salim & LTH own more than 84% of the outstanding shares. The other 15%plus are owned by foreign bankers, foreign & local funds & retailers. The liquidity of this counter is very low, indeed, if the big boys are not trading. It is very save to buy at this moment because the downside is extremely limited. It is also very boring for those who have bought because the upside is very limited as well.

It will drop lower & lower. There are so many mega projects going on. Occupancy rate of old building will drop. Bank interest rate will hike further you won't be able to beat inflation rate of 4% next yr if only rely on dividend. You need share price appreciation. I sold all & switch to LTKM, a poultry company that pay 5% div. Hometitz, a furniture maker that pay 6% div, Scientx, with management that always act in the best interest of shareholders also increases divided yr after yr. Don't get trapped here. Wake up!

Initially I hit & run in this counter. Reason was I have to many furniture stocks in my portfolio & I didn't intend to keep this one long term. I play the wa. 1st time gained 45% & unloaded. 2nd time gained 20+%. 3rd time gained 10+%. When I looked back i noticed that's not right. If didn't buy&sell i would have earn 20% more. This counter's price movement favours longterm investment. So, I decided to keep & i'm doing well so far.

In textbook, it's called premium. In reality, it's called time value. The time value that u pay is 50% relative to the underlying share. Let say a charted valuer does a valuation on a piece of land & his report turned out to be $x. The landlord sold it to u at $1.5x. U know that a highway will be built adjacent to this piece of land that u bought. So u paid $0.5x to buy 4yrs time for that to happen & eventually lift the value of your land to many times x. Do u see a highway being built adjacent to MRCB in 4yrs time?
