The Ultimate Hold-versus-Sell Test
Here is the overriding primary test, followed by observations on why it is so critically important:

Knowing all that you now know and expect about the company and its stock (not what you originally believed or hoped at time of purchase), and assuming that you had available capital, and assuming that it would not cause a portfolio imbalance to do so, would you buy this stock today, at today's price?

No equivocation. Yes or no?

“The fare environment is very good. I think airlines have always underpriced their products. People are getting a little bit of a shock because they see prices a bit higher, but really, we’ve been behind the curve on that as an industry,” – Tony Fernandes

Tony speak the truth but it is too little too late for CapitalA as most airlines already done their debts restructure to start anew with flesh Balance Sheet except CapitalA.

CapitalA shareholders' equity is RM (5,775,305,000) with totol equity RM (9,427,491,000) as at 31/12/2022

The Group reported a net profit of RM172.4 million in 4Q2022 as compared to a net loss of RM914.7 million in 4Q2021. The current quarter recorded a shareof profit of RM166.5 million from associates and foreign exchange gain of RM207.8 million due to the appreciation of local currencies against the USD during the quarter.

Since I am free, Let me explain what it mean by foreign exchange gain of RM207.8 million due to the appreciation of local currencies against the USD during the quarter

If CapitalA liabilities in USD 2 billion and at 30/9/2022 USD exchange rate is 4.50 in the BS that liabilities is equivalent to RM 9 billion.
On 31/12/2022 the USD exchange rate is 4.40 (appreciation of local currencies against the USD)
Hence in the BS the liabilities is equivalent RM 8.8 billion. Foreign exchange gain of RM 200 million.

Due to aggressive USD interest hike if by 31/3/2023 USD appreciated to 4.60 then in BS as at end 31/3/2023 the liabilities of USD 2 billion will now equivalent to RM 9.2 billion. A foreign exchange loss of RM (9.2 - 8.8) billion.

Dividend
In the CA 2016, the dividend rule is found in s131. It has two principles – ie (1) the dividend is to be paid out of the company’s profits; and (2) the dividend should not be paid if the payment will cause the company to be insolvent. As the directors are the ones who authorise the payment of dividends, they must be satisfied that the company will be solvent after the distribution is made.

Section 133(2) provides for the liability of the director and manager who wilfully paid or permitted to be paid dividends out of what they knew to be not profit. They are liable to the company to the extent of the amount exceeding the value of any distribution of dividends that could properly have been made.

The CA 2016 also prescribes the new liability imposed on the member. Section 133(1) states that the company may recover the amount of distribution received by a shareholder which exceeds the amount which could properly have been made unless the shareholder (1) has received the distribution in good faith; and (2) has no knowledge that the company did not satisfy the solvency test.

I had worked for MNC and owner run business. The different with MNC and Owner run business is ownership where in MNC all are employees and thus behave like employee and the CEO will sell or buy busiiness base on which business will give the fastest and highest return on capital.

On the other hand an owner/family run business, the owner will try to keep the business forever and if fortunately the owner is capable and visionary then the business will expand and flourish but if the owner is just a playboy type then most likely the business will be stangnant and facing the slow decline. All is not lost, if the owner realise his own lack of capability and prepare to hire a capable professional CEO then who know the owner owned business might turn into an MNC.

So as retail investor you are competing with professional fund managers in trying to make money from the market. The fund managers have vast pool of money and analysts to keep watch on their investment 24/7/365 and they will act fast without hesitation, emotion and mercy (exception TTB run Icap). So as retail investor what is your odd compare to those fund mangers.

The “higher high” bullish pattern printed yesterday may propel the stock northwards towards MYR0.80, followed by MYR0.90. However, the counter may reverse direction if it drops below the MYR0.65 support, forming a “lower low” bearish pattern below the average line.

The former Umno Youth chief today shared a screenshot of his "consultation" with ChatGPT, which interacts conversationally, on his Instagram story and noted that he didn't find the response helpful.

ChatGPT's response read: "As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions or take sides in political matters. The decision of which political party to join is a personal one, and it depends on a variety of factors such as the individual's beliefs, values, and goals. Ultimately, it is up to Khairy Jamaluddin to decide which party aligns best with his own beliefs and principles, and which party he feels will best serve his constituents and the country as a whole."

Watch out for end Feb 2023 Malaysia CPO stock level.

Palm Oil Hits 8-week High Malaysian palm oil futures were trading around the MYR 4,300 per tonne mark, closing in on their highest level since November 2022, buoyed by brisk export demand, a weaker ringgit, and supply concerns. Exports of Malaysian palm oil products for Feb. 1-25 rose between 15.3% and 25.4% from the same period in January, cargo surveyors showed. On top of that, the Malaysian Meteorological Department warned of danger-level continuous rain across western regions, raising flooding risks and sparking concerns about disrupted supplies. Supporting prices further, key markets India and China might need to refill their inventories of edible oil in the coming months. At the same time, any unfavorable weather conditions in India could ignite worries about the country's domestic production. .

Those holding WC do not like high dividend because WC do not get dividend and they prefer Insas to keep the cash and they are unable to push up insas price because already trapped and all in WC.

So put your Insas in freezer and only come back on expiration of WC on Feb 2026.
