The new machineries are expected to contribute positively to packaging revenue and earnings effective FYR 2019

Our flexible plastic business unit has invested a sum of RM7.308 million (including RM1 million in FYR 2017) for acquisition of new machines

The Directors will endeavor to maintain a dividend payout ratio of 35% subject to the Group’s financial performance, capex requirement and cash flow position.

We maintain a cautious outlook for FYR 2019 amid these challenges. However, both the garment and packaging businesses are expected to remain profitable for FYR 2019.

The packaging segment continues to focus its marketing effort on fast moving consumables, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and healthcare related products which enjoy higher value-added, recession proof and may also ride on higher demand due to population growth.

The Group will continue to focus on its core business of garment manufacturing and to achieve growth organically. Given the strong cash resources, we are well positioned to tap into strategic merger and acquisition opportunities in the same industry while not ruling out any diversification into other industries whenever opportunities arise.

On 9 March 2017, the Company had announced the grant of 120,330,000 options under the Employees Share Option Scheme (“ESOS”) - First Batch ESOS, being the first grant of options under the said scheme. The First Batch ESOS Options was offered by the Board of Directors of Ekovest at an exercise price of RM1.30 per ESOS Option which is equivalent to the five (5)-day volume weighted average market price up to 8 March 2017, being the day preceding the Offer Date, of Ekovest share. The ESOS options have no vesting period and are exercisable immediately.

This division is expected to continue to provide a steady stream of revenue to complement both the construction and property development industry. In the long run, the management of Ekovest is on track to achieving its desired revenue mix of 40% from construction and 30% each from property development and toll operation.

However, we do note that there has been some uncertainty in the Government’s policy relating to tolled expressway and we have been in close contact with the relevant ministries and agencies to present our views on the industry as a whole.

Upon its completion, the alignment of DUKE 3 will complement the existing DUKE Phase 1 and 2 whereby it will serve the North-South travelling route in Kuala Lumpur and will be a viable alternative to the existing federal roads which are congested during peak hours

The construction of our DUKE Phase 3 is also progressing well and is on track for completion and operation in 2020

Moving forward, we are also expecting for the remaining RM200 million of unbilled sales to be recognised, as and when we achieve the construction percentage of completion

we also have an ongoing incentive agreement with the Government of Malaysia relating to the design of sewerage treatment plants project.

with contract value of RM3.7 billion and the various beautification packages under the River Of Life project, the estimated total outstanding orderbook for the Group stood around RM3.0 billion

Moving forward, our construction outstanding orderbook remains healthy and is able to provide earnings visibility for the next 3 years.
